Bent Tree Golf Club

About
The lush, rolling terrain occupied by Bent Tree Golf Club was sculpted into one of the most popular championship golf courses in central Ohio. Dennis Griffiths, the course's architect, seamlessly blended the design with the natural features of the landscape. The abundant natural water hazards come into play on half the holes and Griffiths strategically incorporated several well placed bunkers. The terrain's gentle undulations provide some interesting slope in the greens that place a priority on accuracy. Bent Tree Golf Club's par-4 eighth hole is especially demanding. It may be short at only 334 yards but it is surrounded by bunkers on all sides. It is followed by another tricky par 4 that requires both distance and accuracy in order to navigate the tree-lined fairway uphill to an undulating green faced with bunkers to the front and back.

What happened to the Fairways ?
My group loves this course,, we try to play it 3-4 times each year,, However our first round there this year was a total shock. The normally beautiful lush fairways were sparse, splotchy and appeared to be totally burnt up, and the greens all had numerous un-fixed ball marks. Whether the burnt condition was caused by chemicals or weather, didn't matter , we've played on several " cheap courses" this year that had fairways that were in much better shape. We have cancelled our plans for return trips this year and hope they recover by next year.
needs tlc
used to be real nice. still has character. crab grass on every tee box and on every fringe. needs water in the fairways and rough also. overpriced for what the end product is.

What a terrible condition the course is in
Greens are spongy and bumpy.
Grass in fairways... that would be a no...
Sand in bunkers... nope... no rakes either..
Not a fan
Staff is amazing, weather was perfect, pace was 4 hours but the layout penalizes you in all the wrong places for all the wrong reasons. 50 rounds in this year, third and last time playing the course…
Bent Tree
Course is in bad shape. A lot of dead grass. Fairways are not good.
Expect to Wait
First time playing and it took our twosome 3 hours to get through the front 9 then another hour and a half to get through 10-13. We ended up leaving before 14 because we were behind two other foursomes waiting to tee off. The ranger drove by a few times but didn’t say anything. It was so slow, we were in the fairway when the group behind us tee’d off while we waited for the group on the green to clear.
It was my buddy’s first time playing 18 and I felt bad that he just wanted to leave early because it was so slow. The heat and bugs didn’t help, but that’s not the course’s fault. The pro shop staff was great, but scheduling tee times so close together didn’t make the experience enjoyable.
Bent Tree
I haven't played here in a while, the golf course was rough. It maybe because of the weather but other courses , Windy Knoll and if you believe it Royal American was alot better. I will say that the greens were good.
Good thing I had Golf Now tee credits...
I would never pay full price for this course. I'm a bit bitter, though, because this used to be one of my all-time favorite tracks. They've lost this course almost entirely to the point I think they must be prepared to sell. Almost all the fairways have massive dead spots, and crabgrass is growing everywhere including the fringe. The greens are riddled with ball marks that few people seem to fix. The greens aren't rolling true. The bunkers are all but dirt with a bit of sand somehow mixed in. I watched one of the maintenance crew drive a bunker raking machine through and nothing but dust flew into the air. I felt bad for him. He should've been wearing a mask. Long story shortened: pay $20 or less to play here or it's a waste.
R.I.P. Bent Tree
I played here 2 months ago, and I titled my review "Bent Tree is Back!" In that review, I noted that they had obviously put a lot of work into the course, as it was in good condition, but I expressed my concerns about the rumors I'm hearing about it being plowed under and converted to lots for new houses, with one rumor being that they might sell part of the property and keep 9 holes. After yesterday's round, I have to assume that the rumors are true. Many of the holes are in absolutely atrocious shape. The "fairways" are an embarrassment to that word. It does seem as if they're trying to keep working on other holes, as they had recently plowed/plugged/aerated many of the fairways on the back. It would, of course have been nice to have known that, as we wouldn't have spent what we spent to play it had we known. We were also confused when all of the sprinklers came on at exactly 12:00 Noon (on the holes that they are apparently trying to preserve), and we had to drive right through them as we finished our round. This used to be my favorite course in the area, and I was excited to take my son for his first round there, but I'm embarrassed that he paid to play a course in that condition.
Awful Conditions
Course is in atrocious shape. I don’t think it’s worth $25 per round.
Course not in good shape
A lot of the fairways were patching or missing grass. Tee boxes not cut. I try to avoid the bunkers but mostly dirt.
I’m used to seeing the course in much better condition.
This golf course has it all !!!!!
I haven’t golfed at Bent Tree in many years and I have to say, I am impressed. Tim in the pro shop has excellent customer service skills and communication. The driving range was in great shape. I enjoy warming up on actual grass. The starter was friendly and courteous, the course is pretty great for as much it has rained in recent months, but my absolute favorite was the outdoor bar and grill (19th hole) in the back of the building near 9 & 18th hole.
It’s the staff.
Amazing course in great condition. Pace of play was excellent, and we were following a men’s league! They were fast! Still, it’s the staff that make this place one of my favorites. Everyone is so nice, which unfortunately seems to be a rarity these days. I highly recommend this course, just don’t take my tee time.
Good course but several issues need fixed
Played Bent Tree on Saturday, the course was in good shape, not great. First of all, the people in the clubhouse and the cart girl (Casey) were great, very friendly.
Regarding the golf course, the yardage is very fair for middle tees. Please cut the grass on the fairways and greens. There was little reward when landing in the fairway since the grass is not trimmed too short. The greens had to be the slowest greens I've played in a couple years. Everybody's putts were coming up short. Also, several greenside bunkers had standing water in them and need some TLC. Some of the fairways had 'burn' areas where there was no grass also. In its current condition, this course is not worth fees > $45.
The greens on this course aren't receptive to any balls rolling onto the green. The majority of the greens are fully protected by rough so your approach shot must come in from the fly.
I doubt I'll be back to this course, too many other course options in the area that are in better condition.
Good value, great layout
Love coming here. Sucks it rained us out after 13 holes lol
First of all, we thank you for the support throughout the years. After about 4 inches of rain last month, we worked backwards to get fairways back to their ideal conditions. We've already seen tremendous improvement and hope that your group will visit again in the future.
