Collins Park Golf Course

By far the worst course conditions I’ve ever played. The greens were nothing but dirt. Had to modify the way the game was played because the putting greens were not playable. The number one green was non existent, rutted, full of holes, and had very little green if any.

The tee boxes: no water in the ball cleaners, no trash cans around the course. Each tee box was similar to standing in an bunker that hadn’t been groomed due to divots.

Bunkers: what bunker? The only thing that resembled a bunker was on the 4th hole…. It was dead dry dirt.

Lastly the golf cart.. the golf cart was so far out alignment that it truly only turned left. The right rear tire was flat which made getting anywhere relatively hard.

Location and play: this course ended up being in the ghetto in Toledo. We worried the whole time our vehicles would be broken into. The course requires no etiquette, or any type of attire. We sat on the tee box as a duo waiting for a four man to play 5 mulligans per person.

We wrapped up halfway through our 18 and cut our losses. If you’re gonna spend $10-20 a round on this course, may I recommend the local putt putt, you will enjoy your time more.

All in all, I wouldn’t recommend patronizing this facility.

Terrible course. The greens were almost unplayable. Not very well taken care of.

In the 1990s I played in a league at Collins Park. It was always in decent shape, nothing spectacular, but good for a muni course. I went this past weekend and it made me sick to see how badly it is maintained. Every green was diseased. The first green was almost entirely dirt with just some grass patches. Also, all sand bunkers have been filled in and grassed over. There is no fairways at Collins Park as the fairway grass is cut the same length as the rough. It appears that the only maintenance done is cutting the grass. It's a shame this old course has fallen into such poor shape. It could be a nice with some TLC.

So here’s the deal it’s a value course. So you need to go into it expecting so green conditions to not be perfect etc. It is an extremely short and easy course for beginner golfers and if you’re trying to dial in certain swings or yardages.

Collins is an outstanding value. It’s not the nicest course in town. It’s not particularly challenging. But it’s absolutely perfect for anyone who wants to play the game without spending a ton of money. Hit it straight and you’ll score well, but plenty of room for slices and hooks on most holes. Very friendly to high handicappers. Some of the greens have seen better days but most fairways and rough are perfectly playable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to swing the sticks in a relaxed atmosphere at a great price.

For only a nine hole course, it would be a good practice course to play, not many challenges on the approaches to the green, and on our day that we played they cut the grass and left the grass in the fairway.So it added a few extra challenges in finding and hitting your ball when you found it but overall I plan on playing there again for the price that I paid

for the price and fact all other re courses where full I did golf here. I know it is 1 year post abandoned. I cant give more then a 3 right now but it better then nothing at all

Good course for playing with some friends. Easy to navigate around. Good open greens. Hard to loose a ball. Only thing is no real flags in the holes and some of the greens are sunburnt. Overall great place for proce

This course isn’t the greatest... that’s why it’s 10-15 dollars for 18 holes and a cart. ...but it is golf, and it’s a fun time depending who you’re with. If you’re skilled or a pro, wouldn’t recommend. If you’re anyone else, enjoy yourself, and you will here.

This course is nothing but weeds in the fairways and the greens are absolutely terrible. First and last time ever playing this course if you can call it a golf course.
