Blue hills
Great course. A little crowded because of it being sunday but still great course. Will def be back soon
Great track
This was my first time playing this course. It was in great condition. The greens were in great shape and rolled true. The course would be great for all levels of golfers and the scenery was spectacular. I would recommend this course to anyone.
Disappointed upon arrival
I arrived for my tee time for 18 holes only to be told that we could only play 9 due to groups in front of us. The guy working said that it is wrong online and there should not be tee times past 4:30 despite me playing there multiple times after 4:30. He mentioned noticing our tee time earlier in the day and knowing we wouldn’t be able to play 18, it would have been the considerate thing to do to let us know that ahead of time before I used my one day of the week at work I can leave early. I politely asked to start on the back to get in 18 holes and he said no and wasn’t friendly about it. After the first couple of holes of waiting at each tee box for 5+ minutes I began to understand why we could not play 18. That is until we finished the front 9 and began to head back to the clubhouse and realized there was only golfers on hole 10 and 17. If we would have started at 10 as requested we could have got 18 in. I have a feeling the person working did not want to stay late enough for us to play. I’m very disappointed and will not be returning here for my after work rounds of golf. There is another course in the area that offers pairs for $44 on Tuesday despite having a league and start the pairs on the back 9. I will go there from now on, cheaper, friendlier staff, and reasonable solutions. Very disappointed in this experience
Always a good day at Blue Hills.
A fun course for average golfers like me. Few forced carries and bunkers that rarely come in to play unless you really hit a bad shot. Makes for a relaxing day of golf.
One of my favorite courses.
They keep the course in great shape. Greens roll good, fairways have nice grass, and they keep the roughs at a playable height. I'd join if I lived in the Roanoke area. Only complaint would be beers are a little on the expensive side.
The course has a lot of ups and downs
2nd time I have played this course. I just relocated from Northern VA. Been in Roanoke for a month. Played 5 courses in the area. Blue Hills is in the best shape and a great layout.
Roanoke Value Course
You won't be overwhelmed with the beauty of the course itself, but it sits above Roanoke among the Blue ridge Mountains, which are always on the horizon. Large, fast greens will test your approach putting. Hilly, but most slopes aren't too severe.
So So course for the valley
One of about 4 or 5 courses in Roanoke that are all about the same cost and the same shape. Fairways were not the best by any means. Greens were fast and rolled nice, probably the best of the public courses in the Valley right now.
Course is not long, fairly open, nothing major hard by any means.
Great value
The course was in great shape. Pace of play was excellent.
Beautiful course
Course was in excellent shape Fairways wide open, Greens smooth, and even Sandtraps which I usually spend to much time in were nice and soft ball comes out easy.
