Blue Hills Golf Course

We really appreciate the team maintaining the course. The club house service is wonderful too!

This is a fun course for golfers of all abilities, although a scratch golfer may find it too easy. Great views and well maintained. I just happened to get a great deal from GolfNow and that made the day even better (even with a little rain on the last 3 holes). I have always said I would never join a country club because I like to travel and play a large variety of courses, but if I didn't live 50 miles from Roanoke I would definitely consider joining this one.

First tome playing this course and we were very pleased. In excellent condition althythe rough was very lush-seductive lose a ball hit just a few feet off the fairway!

Course was in excellent condition with extremely tough pin placements and super quick greens. Pace of play was okay but got moderately worse due to the foursome of retirees in front of us running out of gas.

Greens were good despite being recently verticut. Fairways had very little grass in many places. Our foursome was held up by a twosome who didn’t seem to realize there were other people on the course.

Very enjoyable round. We really liked the course layout and plan on going back very soon.

My friends and I enjoy playing this course because it is "player friendly" to average handicappers like us. Plus the staff usually keeps the course in good condition.

Friendly clubhouse personnel both welcomed and treated us like a guest. Easy access in Roanoke suburbs.

Senior friendly, but greens are challenging, especially most par 3's.

I am a beginner at golf and had previously only played at a local Par 3 course before moving to a full 18 holes. Needless to say I was not very efficient or effective at playing this course, but that did not alter my opinion of the course in the slightest. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the bar to the pro shop attendants. The course was in excellent condition, especially the greens, and the location is great as well with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Overall, this course is an amazing value for the price!

With all the rain this past week, and steady sprinkle we thought the course would not be in good shape. However, the course was in great shape (tee to green), and allowed 90 degrees for the carts (outstanding drainage). Wounderful old style walking golf course design, where greens and tees are close to each other (love those old practical designed golf courses). It's a gem. The course superintendent and crew take a lot of pride in its care, and it shows. Blue Hills will be on my play list next time I am in the Roanoke, VA area. Good driving range as well. Only suggestion would be to improve the pro shop staff's friendliness. Luckily, the course made up for that on that day. Great looking clubhouse/deck, but was not open for any of the early golfers (coffee, biscuits, etc...).

Greens in excellent shape but a little slow for my taste...Fairways were less than stellar and the pace of play, considering the number of golfers on the course was far better than we had expected...Nice facilities and great end-of-season deals on clothing, such as shirts and hats.

very enjoyable round. Paired w/ 2 very nice and friendly golfers. I look forward to my next round at this facility.

the course is enjoyable place without being stressed out due to extreme challenges or intended tricky hole designs. course has beautiful sceneries. also the course provides lots of resting areas here and there.

The course was in great shape. Greens were excellent. Staff was nice. The rate of play was terrible as there were 4 twosomes in front of us and we were a twosome with two twosomes behind us. Get the drift? No one managed the pairing off the first tee. I even tried to self pair but was politely dismissed. Oh well. Maybe they will employee a starter or educate their staff how to deal with that issue in the future.
