Cypress Creek Golfers' Club

Like the course. Front 9 is more much easier than the back. Lots of water and swamp on the back, which makes it a challenge.

Greens are a bit rough right now on a lot of holes.

I have enjoyed playing at Cypress Creek Golf Course. It’s approximately 55 minutes drive away from my home , but the trip is worth it. The gentleman working at the Pro Shop was extremely professional and very friendly. He even advised how I should make my reservations from now on to get the best price. My buddy and I started our round just before 9am .. we even allowed a young group ( a foursome) to tee off ahead of us , even though we were at the tee box first. We weren’t in any rush and we didn’t even think anything of it as the gentleman in the pro shop informed us that we could tee off whenever as they do not currently have a “starter”.. but mentioned that thier “marshal” would be out and about throughout the day.

Our round was going quite nicely with only two exceptions. The first, was more of an annoyance than anything. The foursome we let play ahead of us were in their carts on the cart path about 200 yds forward of the tee box. After we waited 5 minutes one of them shouted to us to play ahead as they all lost their golf balls. This wait started a slight bottleneck of golfers with us now being infront and golfers now almost hitting up on us as we were on the green trying to putt.

The major issue experienced was the interaction with their “ marshal” because a pack of a posted highly visible “ cart path only” sign, I accidently violated that because I drove my cart onto a section fairway that apparently wasn’t appropriate. The marshal shouted that its cart path only , to which I immediately apologized and ensured that it wouldn’t happen again. He just grunted and drove off with a disgusted look on his brow. Either he didn’t believe in my apology or he has this notion that we as non residents of that community should be grateful to be playing “ on his course”. To be honest, that interaction ruined that hole and the next hole for me. Maybe, Cypress Creek should educate thier marshals on social interactions. People make mistakes and aren’t looking to cause problems. It’s a shame too because I do like this course.

Maybe a highly visible sign should be posted on hole 9 at the tee box or make it so that the wooden post barrier be so that it prevents carts from accessing the fairway.. instead having someone berate a paying customer for a mistake they weren’t aware of making.

Had a good time at this course especially it being on a Tuesday. It definitely tries my patience and abilities. Will have to swallow my pride and go back soon to improve my score.

Played with my buds shortly after some light rains. Course was in verry good condition with the exception of a couple tee boxes and greens, that were being repaired. For that reason I give 4 vs 5 stars. Overall still a good day out!

This could be a very good course, the design is great . The conditions and pace of play just simply don’t allow it.

I played this course many times over the years and always enjoy playing it . It is a challenging layout and and will keep you on your toes.

It's my understanding the course is through another ownership change , this time apparently for the better.

Rings have suffered some damage and are being worked on. They are bent grass so could recover this year. On most of the holes we had to move our ball to have a clean cutting line.

My biggest concern course going into this fall is that the fairways are pretty thin right now and with this recent cold front (Sep 2026) the Bermuda maybe dormant for the rest of the year.

Compared to other places in the Hampton Roads area and the current course conditions I think the price point is high by 10 to $15

I wrote a few minutes ago and thought I was reviewing a different Golf Course. I've played this golf course many times over the years and have always enjoyed playing it. They've gone through some ownership changes and things are getting better and I'm glad to see that. For right now there's some pretty rough places on the greens I'm sure they'll get that straightened out in the next month or so. I'm most concerned about the fairways, they're really thin right now and this latest cold snap is possibly made the Bermuda go dormant. She's good for now.

I think the courses in really good condition, especially the fairways. Having that thicker Bermuda going into the winter time it is really important for quality of play. I played a course yesterday in the area and their Bermuda so thin right now I don't plan to go back until next spring. I think the courses done a really good job of managing the fairways and greens and that's much appreciated as a player. I'll come back here as often as I can.

Course was in good shape, only one green was in need of repair. Track was very good with nice variety of challenges.

Awesome course laid out among beautiful homes. Well manicured greens and fairways with bent-grass throughout.

Nice course. Improved fairways, tee boxes & bunkers. But 4 or 5 greens suffering from fungus/mold problems. Glad to see new owners working hard to make this course top notch.

Course was in fairly good shape overall but greens had some bare spots and were recovering from aeration. Toughest holes are 15-17.

Got out early and played 18 in three hours and forty minutes. Course is a great layout, fairways and tree boxes are great. The greens were punched and sanded with some burnout areas. Overall a good experience.
