Cypress Creek Golfers' Club
About
Cypress Creek Golfers' Club was carefully carved from the mature hardwood forests and centuries old peanut fields of Smithfield. The peacefully secluded setting is the ideal environment for a round of golf and the challenging design will have you using every club in your bag. The golf course will reward creative shot-making and thoughtful strategy but it is not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The rolling terrain provides plenty of challenging ups and downs throughout and there are many water holes, including the memorable ninth, a short par 4 with an island green. Cypress Creek Golfers' Club even has its own "amen corner" that starts with the par-4 15th, moves on to the waterlogged 16th, and finishes with another par 4, an uphill hole that is the toughest of the trio.

Interesting layout
Challenging layout. Back 9 will test your game. Great shape. Friendly staff.
Favorite course in Virginia
We enjoy playing golf all over the state of Virginia and sincerely consider this one of our favorite places to play. The staff is friendly and professional and the course is in great shape. Pace of play is excellent and the remodeling of the Tavern looks great! Looking forward to playing again soon!!
Great layout and well conditioned course. True test of golfing ability requiring both driving distance and ball placement. Greens can be lightning fast on downhill putts. Only negative is that they have closed the grill and there is nowhere for non-members to eat or buy a drink. Still a fantastic course and good value for the money, just bring your own food and drinks.
One of the very best in the area!
Absolutely LOVE Cypress Creek. It's remote location in Smithfield, VA makes it a bit of a hidden gem but do not be fooled, if this course were in Williamsburg it would be $90-100 greens fee yet you can play if for around $50. Very fun course that will make you play smart and not always look to hit as far as you can. Will say a few greens & tee boxes were not as great condition as usual but it has been a very hot summer for us with a lot of area courses experiencing that. Either way, play this course! You will not be disappointed & in fact likely leave highly impressed.
Challenging Greens
This course is very well groomed. The pin placements can create challenging holes. Staff is very friendly and always a treat to play
Best Course This Side Of Williamburg
I've been playing this course since opening day. I get out there 6 or 8 times a year. This is the BEST course this side of Richmond/Williamsburg! There isn't a course in Southside Hampton Roads that compares to it!!
Great course for the money
Excellent layout. This is my favorite pubic course in the Isle of Wight/Suffolk/Hampton’s/Newport News area. You need to go to Williamsburg to find anything better. Very open course. If you hit a house, you shouldn’t play golf.
Outstanding Experience
The course was in great shape, customer experience was excellent. There is nothing I could add that is negative. Very well maintained as well. Second time playing here and the new owners are great.
Solid course
I guess you could call this my home course, since it's pretty close to home.
Clubhouse is good, staff (pro shop and restaurant) are friendly and accommodating.
Practice facility is one of the best in the area (though in the Spring, the range gets buggy).
Course layout is solid. No tricks. Front nine is definitely the scoring nine (for me, anyway). #8 is a very good hole, and #9 gives me fits.
Back nine has three of the best holes in the Tidewater. 15, 16, 17 are amazing. Too bad 14 ifairway is always in bad shape.
Awesome layout cool par 3s, greens were rolling good - worth the drive out to Smithfield
This course has an outstanding layout
The greens were very fast and ran true. Best greens in the area. Fairways were in great shape and rough cut so you could find your ball easily. The only drawback from this course was the sand traps need work. Highly recommended this course to all levels of play
Super value, super course!
Friendly staff in the clubhouse, clean cart, started right on time and pace of play was very good-round took about 4 hours. Course in excellent condition, greens very quick and true, and aside from some dust on several holes where home expansion is occurring nearby, no problems at all.
Value for the golfing dollar , esp with senior rates, was unbelievable. I will definitely be back to play this big, challenging course. Kudos!
Great value!
Nice people in the proshop, course in great shape. Pins in challenging positions but playable. Pace of play good-finished in about 4 hours. Greens in very nice shape and VERY fast but manageable. I drove nearly 40 miles from VA Beach to play here with my friend who lives nearby and will do it again. Altogether a very nice golfing experience. Keep it up, new owners!
Challenging
Weather was windy which always makes this course harder. Fairways were great, bunker need a ton off work and the greens were decent some greens there are a couple bare spots trying to grow in. Overall good condition
Great Layout, greens roll well,
Great value thanks to Golf Now's Hot deal. Overall course is in good shape for end of April, Some area's need to grow in and some greens have small areas that are recovering from winter. Tee boxes Fairways are in great shape.
Early Spring Golf
Course was in good shape but the grass had not greener up yet and too early for green maintenance. All in all a good golf day.
Course layout is one of the best in the area
Greens are coming back getting in better shape , some washed out bunkers from all the wet weather but still a great course to play
Terrible back nine
If u slice the ball the back nine will eat u alive
