About
South Riding Golf Club is nestled in the gentle hills of northern Virginia, enjoying a landscape of hardwood forests and grassy meadows. The course offers a variety of challenges but the fairways are wide and player-friendly and the greens can be tough in spots but overall they offer some room for error. The layout requires both strategy and skill, it is definitely not a golf course where you will be able to just "grip and rip it." The course pinpoints your weaknesses but it is still a fair test. South Riding Golf Club's eighth hole is memorable for its difficulty but it's an interesting hole sine there are many ways to play it. At 351 yards, the hole is a short but intimidating dogleg left that will tempt you to go over the trees. The fairway is generous but the saddle-shaped green is flanked with bunkers.

Golfer Reviews
Still an Amazing Course
Apparently, it had been raining for a few days, so many golfers were lined up to go out for a round. This, and the observance for cart-path only created a slow pace and backup.
Personally, didn't mind it and understood why we were where we were. Great course still
Hidden Gem
This place was amazing. Greens were in fantastic shape, no ball marks to be found- smooth roll every time. Fairways were wet since it just rained for 3 days but that’s not their fault. Was still able to play everywhere the ball landed there weren’t any washed out spots. Only complaint is they could have some better signage for hole distances and next hole locations, but whatever. You get a wicked fast electric cart and a great golf course for $45 a round. Can’t beat it
Do not like Golfnow
Although I have played this course many times in the past, I Ended up not being able to play today and was not allowed to cancel my reservation through Golfnow because my tee time rate was considered a ‘hot deal’. Was not even allowed to reschedule via the Golfnow site so I am out $132. Will not be using Golfnow ever again and will not recommend it to any of my friends.
Cart path only! Course was wet and soggy. Recent rains dumped a lot of water on the course and there was some rain on the day I played.
Hot
I wound up as a single and it was pretty tough. After about 4 holes I got backed up with nowhere to go. Couldn't play through and then after 9 I started on #1 again but once again ran into too much interference. Normally it's a fun course to play but the pace made it too tough for me today.
Signage
Directional signs that lead you to the correct hole can’t be that much money I assume.
After looking for 18 for 20 minutes it started to rain. That’s after starting on 10 since 1 was impossible to find. 8 holes. Never again
Nice course but not for the price
Maybe it’s the location but for the price charged the course should have been better maintained, don’t recall a lot of rain lately but the course felt extremely wet even in places on the fairway it didn’t look like it. Starter was great!!
Felt a bit rushed with all the twosomes being sent out and needing to pass us.
I think overall it’s the friends you’re out playing golf with that make the difference.
Good day at SR
Course was in really good shape considering it was pretty wet. Greens were perfect as were tee boxes. Pace of play was amazing for a Saturday.
