It was golf
After not playing for 6 months, it was a good facility to start working on your game
No Grass
Not a bit of grass on the fairways. Slowed to a crawl after 7 holes. Quit after 9 holes. One of the worst rounds of golf due to course conditions in my life.

Good course
Recently played Red Wing and considering it is still early spring the course is in good condition, greens were in great condition. Will definitely ho back and play in a few months.

Not good right now but ok
Indoor Staff and grill was pretty good. Course greens were not so good. A few of the greens were nice but maybe only 2. 1 hole was shut down and played as a par 3 because it doesn’t drain and is too sloppy. The layout was fine but tee boxes and fairways were full of weeds. I’m won’t be back anytime soon.

Wet condition mitigation
Red Wing is one of my favorite courses in the area. Always up for a round there. We had a lot of rain a couple of days before playing and I expected the course to be soggy, however the maintenance staff could have provided some relief at the tee boxes. A number of them were essetnially in casual water. There were dry areas the markers could have been moved to . Just made tee shots more difficult than they needed to be.
Not a bad course
I try to play this course each time I am at Virginia Beach. It is not always possible though. I suppose it is not fair to give the course 4 stars for condition when the weather has taken a toll on almost all courses.

A good day golfing
The course was being fixed up and that was evident in many places. It was, at one time, a great course and the new team is trying to get it back to that condition. Lots of work going on in various places. Did not interfere with the play, which was fun and very enjoyable. The course layout is a good one. Plenary to challenge everyone.
A Canadian visiting the area
Pace of play was very good, played as a single with another single, under 4 hours with foursomes in front of us that included 2 walkers
there was a lot of casual water on the course but it didn't come into play a lot
Greens were a little slow - it didn't look like they were cut that morning - it might have been due to the time of year, not many sand traps but they looked to be in OK shape
Did not use the amenities on this date
1st time playing in this area, If time permits I would play this course again
