Not good golf etiquette
Overall I enjoyed my round at Red Wing yesterday. However we were behind a group of five in front of us from the third hole on and they never let us play Beyond them. It's not good golf etiquette to have a group of five out first of all and then the three of us having to wait every hole for the group of five wasn't good etiquette either. Otherwise the price was great and the round went fairly well despite the windy conditions
Was hoping for better
Had a little problem checking in as he couldn't find my tee off reservation. Concerned about this because of another time here on Thursday. Pace of play was rather slow and some of the greens weren't in very good condition.
Losing greens to saltwater
Course is in good shape. However, two greens are suffering from saltwater intrusion and it is becoming an issue in too many places in the southern VB course (Hel's Point comes to mind).
Still recommend this course for play and value.
Overall good condition
Tee boxes and fairways are in the best condition I’ve seen in years. Greens pretty good except 14 which is horrible. Overall great to play!

Average course, good value. Greens need some love, but they are playable.
Redwing
This course has a very nice design layout . It’s a fun but challenging course that most skill levels will enjoy playing. Only negative to mention are the Greens, which are playable but not in the best shape, otherwise it’s an enjoyable round of golf.

Overalls course needs work
Tee boxes were hard, pace of play was slow, greens were rough fairways were concrete

Cost effective but crab grass needs to go
This is one of the best options in terms of cost and value in Virginia Beach. That said, the greens need work. Crab grass plagues most of the greens even after aeration. killing crab grass is actually an easy fix that needs to be done.
A really pretty course and the staff was super friendly , but several of the greens are in pretty rough shape.
Good deal for decent municipal course
We had great weather on an uncrowned day.
Friendly staff. Cheap beer! Good BBQ sandwich at the turn.
Greens were not consistent and some had large bare spots.

Some recent negative reviews about this course but I was really pleasantly surprised. Some of the greens are in rough shape but for the most part the course was in good condition for late summer. Layout was playable but had some challenging holes from the blue tees. No development anywhere around the course so just trees, water and nature to look at which I really enjoyed. Employees were friendly, 6 pack of beer was reasonably priced. 4:15 minute round on a holiday weekend 12 minutes from our hotel for $25 hot rate, seriously wants not to like? I’ll definitely be back.
