Red Wing Lake Golf Course

Red Wing is one of my favorite courses in the area. Always up for a round there. We had a lot of rain a couple of days before playing and I expected the course to be soggy, however the maintenance staff could have provided some relief at the tee boxes. A number of them were essetnially in casual water. There were dry areas the markers could have been moved to . Just made tee shots more difficult than they needed to be.

I try to play this course each time I am at Virginia Beach. It is not always possible though. I suppose it is not fair to give the course 4 stars for condition when the weather has taken a toll on almost all courses.

The course was being fixed up and that was evident in many places. It was, at one time, a great course and the new team is trying to get it back to that condition. Lots of work going on in various places. Did not interfere with the play, which was fun and very enjoyable. The course layout is a good one. Plenary to challenge everyone.

Pace of play was very good, played as a single with another single, under 4 hours with foursomes in front of us that included 2 walkers

there was a lot of casual water on the course but it didn't come into play a lot

Greens were a little slow - it didn't look like they were cut that morning - it might have been due to the time of year, not many sand traps but they looked to be in OK shape

Did not use the amenities on this date

1st time playing in this area, If time permits I would play this course again

This was a very good course for the money. Challenging but fun. The course was in good shape with a little bit of damage on a few greens. It did not interfere with the play. Really enjoyed playing there.

The course is good for your money. There are some greens that we're in pretty rough shape with a lot of dead spots and pitch marks left I repaired. Overall, a great layout that is not overly challenging for your average golfer. If you are a great golfer, the course is arguably too easy. The pace of play was a bit slow, even though it was early morning. If it remained the same, the afternoon would be dreadful.

The course was in Good shape. One of the greens was in bad shape but I'm sure they are working on fixing it and the rest where slow and a bit buzie but didn't prevent us from having a good round. Definitely will play it again before it get colder. Keep up the great work to the staff!

I was amazed with how free of debris the course was after Hurricane Ian. There were a few areas of standing water in the fairways and some of the bunkers had water in them. Shocking thing was is was not cart path only. There were several greens with patchy areas on them. Overall it was a very pleasant weather day with almost no waiting to play. I'll be back.
