Rude staff
The staff questioned me as soon as I got to the first hole. There was no reason to question us and tell us to let another group go first. The course was a little muddy at the time due to the rain.
Need to hit the ball further!
Had an absolute blast playing this course and can’t wait to go back.
Course is in great condition, and barring a lack of bunkers is one of the better courses in the area. Lots of water to keep it interesting and enough trees to keep you honest.
My only gripe is the length of the par three holes which I’m not good enough to hit from the tee just yet.
I am coming back frequently!!
Vacation Getaway
Since 1988, the family has held the annual beach vacation at Sandbridge and played numerous local courses. For the past three years, we have visited Red Wing Lake. We like the proximity to our beach house and the course layout. As a golfer who general fades the ball, the 8 dogleg left holes present challenges. Wasn't particularly pleased that the staff couldn't accommodate my requested tee times 8 days in advance, but the on-line system could. But then we were locked into the pre-determined rates. Being a senior and having military personnel players, this seemed a bit less than customer friendly. The course was in good shape in spite of some recent rains. clearly there were some "regulars" getting special treatment, which I am actually fine with, they should get consideration ahead of once of year visitors. Overall, it's a fine course, not quite as economical as Stumpy Lake, but still reasonable.
Great Layout, Average Conditions, but Will Replay
Fairways haven’t been watered so clubbing down would still give you enough roll to get in the green. Errand shots as well would roll 30+ yards.
Bunkers were atrocious. Hard. Could still be recovering from the whole “don’t touch our rakes with your Covid hands” excuse, but 90% of greenside bunkers were unfavorable.
Greens were OK. Though hard fairways the greens were firm enough to leave healthy divots.

Tee box's/Greens need work
Tee box's are hard and difficult locating good spot to tee up....fairways are decent. Greens are loaded with divots.and lack/need attention.
