Golf at its best
The layout of the course is awesome. It challenges you with different layouts that aren't one sided to lefties or righties. Staff was awesome and welcoming and pleasant to chat with. I was paired up with two awesome golfers and overall great gentlemen. I will definitely play this course again when i'm back in the area.
Layout good but…..
Course conditions were a bit rough even by Redwing standards - ground was dry and hard , grass was stunted by dry conditions . Several areas of ground under repair. Greens were bumpy but had just been aerated

Fast Enjoyable Round
Arrived and was the second person out. Everything moved quickly and water on almost every hole. Tee Boxes needing some repair n over seeding. Fairways rolled and not to many bunkers made the green’s reachable for higher handicaps. Greens were recovering but rolling true.

Do not particularly care for the condition of the course. Not nearly what I expected for the amount we paid to play. The course needs some serious maintenance and investment to make it better.

Great Course in Virginia Beach
Only 5 star I didn’t give was because of the course conditions. The fairways were dry and almost dirt at some points. I would recommend some TLC for the entire lawn but prices are great and staff is amazing. Good beer deals and a driving range attached. I will come back no doubt.

Good Course
Well maintained course, and the staff were very hospitable and buce. It was a great time and woukd definitely recommend to play this course
Good layout but bad condition
The fairways are rough, no pun intended, but really bad and patchy grass. The greens are also kind of rough and very slow.

Greens with holes and sand
I don't think you should have to pay full price for aerated greens. Other than that I had a good time.

We enjoy this course, it's the start of the season for us. We always come back.
Love it here. I bit wet due to previous weather conditions. We usually walk so not a problem. We will be back.\

here for marathon but got in a round, rained prior day , so some flooding and debris issues but enjoyed very much
Good Course...Good Value
I have played Redwing Lake GC many times over the years. I remember playing there not long after it first opened many years ago, and it has always been an enjoyable course...even after the significant rework with added lakes back in the 1990's!
The one thing that is a glaring issue is the need to rework Hole #3. They have moved all the tees up to within around 130 yards of the green and designated it as a Par 3 due to the excessive ponding that has developed over the past few years with significant water standing throughout the fairway. It really should be fixed and the solution is NOT to try and drain it since the adjacent lake level is too high. I suggest that the entire fairway be raised with fill (maybe also requiring the green be raised as well) and sloped to drain to the lake adjacent to the original tee boxes. That would restore that hole to a par 4.
Hopefully, something can be done to fix that hole.

The Navy has raised the Red Wing Lakes water level.
