Great course
Great course. But you can tell there's no irrigation system. Ground was rock hard. Greens were in terrible shape. The greens looked great when I played it earlier in the year but as summer got hot the greens went down hill. I love the course layout. Very challenging. One of the prettiest courses in the Hampton Roads area.Pace was slow to me 4 hours and 15 minutes to play 18 holes. Most courses I play usually try to keep a 3 hour 15 minute pace. I love less than a half a mile from the course so play here often.
Great Day at Red Wing Lake
We come from out of town a couple of times a year and never miss an opportunity to play red wing. The course is well laid out and in great shape. One green (14) had some issues which we were told about by the starter, and they are working on it. Overall, an excellent course and we cannot wait to get back. Also, not for nothing, the Pimiento Cheese sandwich at the turn was awesome!

Birdies
Nice course for the money. A couple greens need work along with a few bunkers but overall very pleasurable.
Kinda beat up
Played the course and it was pretty slow for 1st 9 holes. League play in front of us. Sped up after they were finished. The course was very hard due to lack of water. Greens were pretty beat up. Looked like they had a bunch of outings and noboy fixed divots or ball marks

Love the layout but dry
Course was great but it was overly dry and the greens where not great.
Overall poor condition
Overall we were disappointed. I was aware that the greens had been punched about 9 days ago and expected they would still be healing some. Unfortunately they are in very poor condition, not related to aeration there were numerous weeds, several browned out areas, some collars were all weed. Most of the aeration holes were empty (no top dressing sand), looks like the course needs a lot of attention. The general layout of the course was fine for a municipal course. Fairways and tees all seemed dry and much in need of water etc….

Fun fair course
This is a great course for the money. Fairways, tee boxes, traps are in good shape. They recently aerated the greens and they are in need of some love. Other than that it's a fun fair course. One could shoot a lowest round...
Good Value, But Aerated Greens
I got a really great rate through TeeOff, but the greens were aerated, so that’s probably why. The rest of the course was in good condition, and even though it was hot today, the playing conditions were pretty good. There was some occasional slow play, but not overly bad.
Had its moments
The course has a good mix of holes. It is also a course that having played once the knowledge would definitely help for a second round. Like being on the left side of the 6th fairway and where to lay up on 9. Course conditions were just average, Tees not always in great shape and some weeds on the greens. that being said it was a fun course to play and i would probably go back
Great course and value
This is a great golf course for the money. Staff is super friendly. I’ve never had any issues of pace of play. Course conditions are very good other than patrons not replacing their ball marks.
