Red Wing Lake Golf Course

Red Wing lake is one of my favorite courses in the area. They lay out is outstanding and they generally keep the course in good condition.

Played on a Saturday. Very slow pace of play. Guys behind us kept hitting into us even though we were waiting for group ahead of us to get to the green.

Course was in good shape although many of the fairways were hard, Definitely a good day of golf.

It's a feel good course. No houses, no traffic, no noise (except sometimes a few jets from Oceana that make a run over the fairways at low altitudes, but that's our Navy working every day to keep our nation safe. I love it. The wild life is abundant...geese with their babies and sometimes we spot a deer with her fawn, and lots of turtles sunning themselves by the ponds/lakes, osprey, herons and bald eagles. A really enjoyable day of golf.

The course is mostly golfer friendly, but #9 and #!8 will test your skills, at least for me.

Was very wet due to recent heavy rains but was a nice challenging course. Pace of play was very slow. No on course Marshall to help educate the golfers on how to speed up play.

Course was wet, but in good shape considering. A good course with some challenges. A lot of dog legs. Will be back.

We had a blast,and with light rain the staff came by on the 14th tee and offered us a rain delay voucher,to play another 18 in the future if we decide to stop play.It was very thoughtful,but we finished as the last players of the day.

Need to offer affordable monthly or annual memberships.

Locals would appreciate it.

No rain made the course very hard. Helped my drives to be way longer than normal which I liked. Greens rolled good. Overall, a good course for the price. I would play again.

When we played this course last year, we got soaked. Same thing this year, but it was on 17 and not 12 this time.

The course was in fair shape because the bermuda hasn't come all the way in yet. A lot of tight lies around the greens.

We will be going back as my brother had the best round of the year.

We had a great time at this course. The staff weren’t pushy and weren’t breathing down your neck about pace of play. It was fairly crowded too but everyone just continued along- as golf should! The course was fairly wide open and in decent shape for a cheaper public course. All in all- a place to enjoy a round of golf at your own pace.

For the price, the course is in great shape. I love the layout. I didn’t run into any issues with the greens

Course layout was fine but the fairways were in a very poor condition. Grass was sparse on most fairways with lots of bare patches. A number of greens had different grasses growing which looked more like weed growth.. In general they’re appeared to be a general lack of maintenance. Notwithstanding this, the staff were very good and accommodating. With maintenance and course watering, it would significantly increase the pleasure of playing this course.

We had a 11:30 tee time and started on time! We play this course fairly often and average time is about 4.5 hours to play 18. We haven't gotten any rain in almost 2 weeks so the ground was very hard.... great for most drives but tough on some iron shots & chipping! So.... over all: some tee boxes was pretty beaten up, most fairways were very hard with little grass, never was in any of the bunkers, greens were in good shape!!

Overall Red Wing is an excellent course; well maintained and well managed. I booked a 0720 tee time today to be able to get out with my son in law and get 18 done in just over three hours due to his work requirements. We were first off and ran around the front nine in one hour and 15 mins. Made the turn and heading to the 10th tee to find two foursomes and a twosome ahead of us waiting to tee off. Based on pace of play, we had to forego the back nine so I ended up paying for two 18 hole rounds for a total of 18 holes. While I understand the course needs to make a profit, they could have communicated the fact that there was an 0830 shot gun start scheduled which would have led me not to pay for my son in law. I purposefully did not pre-pay one of the rounds for this reason. I’ll put it on me for not asking but frustrating none the less. Then when I queried re possibility of a rain check, I was told they could not provide one based on me booking through Golfnow. I guess I need to actually read the fine print...again on me but this issue has me Really starting to question the value of booking through Golfnow as this is not the first time I have felt like a third class citizen based on booking through Golfnow.

This was one of the nicest courses offered on golf now for our area if not the nicest. Greens were amazing and so were the fairways.
