Golfer Reviews
Disappointed
This course needs to advise handicapped people of changes that could affect them on the course. Making changes on a public course that eliminates the handicap person from getting closer to the green also eliminates their ability to play the course.
Handicapped
If you are handicapped, can walk but not very well and you come to this course, beware that unfortunately the golf carts do not go past the cart sign so you’ll have to walk and you cannot get them close to the green because they do not go past a certain area to allow you the opportunity to put your ball. I believe this is a Handicap violation and I will definitely be seeking my attorneys review and determine if this should be a lawsuit against Redwing Golf Course. I am pretty sure that this must be a violation of Federal law under the ADA, especially since this is a PUBLIC COURSE!
Course work really paid off
The greens underwent a complete overhaul and it really payed off. Course is in absolutely wonderful condition. The new carts are an added bonus. Loved it
On it’s way back ✔️
Played 18 Sunday PM 10/13
Bermuda Greens are brand new and still growing in…
Cool layout & not super difficult from White Tees… New carts w/GPS too…
Friendly staff & decent Driving Range -
Look forward to playing here again once their greens have grown in & matured…
Wet but still enjoyable
Played Red Wing Lake twice during fall vacation. To be fair, course was understandably wet during our visit due to hurricane remnants week prior. Course has new greens since last visit in June, and with a few minor exceptions on back nine that are still filling in, greens were in good shape. It didn't drastically affect play. New GPS equipped carts since our June visit were great. Staff is always helpful and friendly and pace of play was great. Good spacing of tee times. Will definitely return to Red Wing Lake on next visit to VA Beach.
I shot a 78!
Loved the Layout of the course, the first nine the greens were decent, unfortunately the second nine greens were not. So we agreed to move the ball no closer but into a clear path without the sandy bald spots as needed, and if necessary a 2 putt acceptance once on the green.
I made a lot of one putts from all distances, and did not have to use a 2 putt rule, I usually shoot 80-90 and every once in awhile even a blind squirrel finds a nut!
Overall all the courses that are open to the Public that we played so far need attention to the greens to be fair.
I recently played the Pointe and Carolina Club, and played Occano in Windsor as well lately and they are in excellent shape consistently if you want to check them out.
I would certainly play again, great layouts, the fairways were consistent and the grounds crew is doing a good job as well.
We all had Fun and that is what Golf is all about!
Good average course
Good value for 18 holes, some greens had some rough spots but can be expected this time of year...
Lovely course
Really enjoyed red wings what a lovely course will definitely be going back
Please ask the pro shop about turning off the cart restrictions, and they will accommodate your request.
