Eagles Pride Golf Course - Green/Red
About
Eagles Pride Golf Course has long been known as one of the best military courses in the country and luckily for golfers, it's open to the public. Originally opened in 1940, the course started as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course. Another nine was added in 1979 but it wasn’t until the mid-1990s that it became Eagles Pride. The three nines are called the Green, Red, and Blue, and they are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Green/Red Course starts with the newest and most challenging of the three nines. The course will test you with plenty of trees, water hazards, undulating slopes, and even the occasional blind shot. There are some tough holes but players of all skill levels could enjoy any of the nines.
Previously known as Green/Red at Fort Lewis Golf Course.

Disappointed
Normally really enjoy playing here but unfortunately had a bad experience. Started out while at pro shop. Staff was anything but friendly again. Felt like our tiresome was a bother to check in and generally rude. Then for the pace of play. Was 2nd group off and was held up all day that at more than 1 time there was 3 groups (our plus the 2 behind us) all waiting on the tee box. Was told Marshall starts around 10am. Actually saw the Marshall on hole 8 and expressed concern about it being about 2:15 so far and being held up. He confirmed with group behind us. With that said the Marshall was NEVER seen on the back 9. 5 hours and 5 minutes to play a round of golf being 2nd group. Completely unacceptable. Course still doesn't have a working restaurant and has very limited items to purchase at the turn in the clubhouse. Absolutely great course but because of the staff I don't believe myself and my 4some will be back anytime soon if at all.
Fun layout, dry enough
I've lived in Olympia for about 6 years and have never played this course until a couple days ago, and then played it two days in a row! I was really missing out. Played Red/Green. Fun layout. Elevation changes, doglegs, narrow fairways, beautiful greens. It was a little wet from the overnight rains, but dry enough! Teed off a little after 11:00 on a Thursday and was in my car heading home by 13:30. All-in-all, epic!
Long challenging coarse
First time we played here . The coarse was in great condition for all the rain we have had.
Long and challenging
Friendly staff very accommodating
Look forward to playing again
Terrible Staff Customer Service
This was my first time at this course, and I am a new golfer so I was very excited! Upon arriving and getting our carts, the lady who first helped us was extremely short and very unwelcoming. It set a bad tone for the start of our morning. The course itself was maintained very well, and with the amount of rain we have been having, you'd never know. Halfway through, we stopped at the restaurant/pro shop and were hoping to find some food. The restaurant was under construction, so big deal, we went in to get some snack's from the pro shop. When we walked in, a gentleman was standing at the counter. We ask, politely, if they had any food available. Without even looking up at us, to greet us, he just pointed his finger and gruffly said, "yep, over there". We turned around and walked out, empty handed, appalled by such terrible customer service. Overall, the course itself was great but because of such terrible staff, we will not be returning to this course.
Great character on the Red Side
I really liked the Red Course, elevated tees
Canyons, water very fun, the Green course has some long par 4's good for the long ball hitter
Great shape for the time of year
First time playing this course. Surprised at how dry it I is this time of year. Greens played very fast. No food or beverage service, was under construction and not sure what is planned. Overall very good experience.
Good corse
Winter and it was cold, restaurant closed for construction. Course is mature and well maintained. Corse is difficult but fair. We had a good day!
In great condition for February
The course was surprisingly dry being that it is February and we had just had a week of rain prior. The greens are in great shape.
great winter course
Even after all the rain lately, the course was in very good condition. Greens and fairways recently mowed and the playing conditions were good. Cart path only. Not crowded . Playing green and red course this winter.
Very enjoyable
Long part fours, challenging greens, more of a summer course
Great day!
Found an amazing Golf Now Hot deal, that we couldn't pass up! For a November day, with no rain, a little sun, the golf course seems to be holding up pretty decent with the recent rains.
Green we're in great shape, and fairways had some roll still. For this time of year, that's a bonus! Course overall was in very good condition.
Three of us played in 3:40 minutes, another plus!
Definitely will play again
Wet but playable
Caught this course on a gorgeous day right after the rains and it was plenty moist with no roll out making it play longer than its regular 6365. Lots of well shaped and interesting holes. Played with two other singles at 11:15 am and never had anyone in front of us and the group that started right behind us gradually fell behind so it was like owning the course.
Yah it was wet but what isn't this time of year, so you play winter rules because every shot has mud on it. Most of the greens were in fine shape, just soft from rain. I don't hit it far enough to get on in regulation from the whites anymore especially 8 & 9 on the Blue course but when I play here with friends on the Golds, it is quite fair.
Amazing conditions
I thought the greens were synthetic base on the practice green, it was that perfect. Turns out the greens on the course were the best I've seen and better than or at least equal to some really expensive courses. You need a guide to find to correct holes but other wise, it's a really delightful course. I've walked on twice and been paired up with great playing partners both times. Definitely not pretentious.
Watch out for the Snack Shack!
Got a great $39 deal with cart and meal. Assumed the 9th hole would end up at the clubhouse. It doesn't. Snack Shack (where ever it was, I never did see it)closed at 4 so I missed out on the meal. That being said, the course was a fun challenge carved out of the woods with deer meandering through the property. The greens were slow but in good shape. Friendly staff also. Will definitely play there again.
GolfNow Deal is great here!
If it weren't for the GolfNow deal, we wouldn't have golfed here. Course was in good shape for not having any rain in a while. All in all we had fun. If you can get a deal on a tee time, take it. If you can't, look for a different track.
