Located less than an hour from Seattle in Lakewood, Oakbrook Golf Club is one of the area's hidden gems. Opened in 1966 as a private club, the course opened its doors to the public in 2012. The course is known for its smooth, firm, and fast greens. The 6,700-yard layout plays both narrow and long but it is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. With hundreds of mature oak trees scattered throughout the course, accuracy is key. It's a course that rewards strategy rather than raw skill. One of Oakbrook Golf Club's toughest holes is the par-4 seventh, which you'll have to play from below since it's sloped steeply from top to bottom. The downhill shots and doglegs will put golfers of any skill level to the test.

Great condition. Highly recommended
Great track to play.The course conditions were great from tee to green. Greens are rolling pure. Awesome value when you get a hot deal.
Oakbrook for senior golfer
The course is in great condition. It is a fairly long layout with dome interesting doglegs.
Greens are good, a bit slow until you have a downhill putt.
I enjoyed the round. I saw a few deer roaming about.
And I enjoyed a meal in the restaurant afterward.
With golf now, it was reasonably priced golf.
Best course in Pierce County!
I’ve played McChord, the Classic, and American Lakes before playing Oakbrook. Oakbrook has a straightforward design and excellent course conditions: nice fairways, rough that is not too long, and fairly fast greens that hold. Can’t wait to play again.
Playable from the short grass
Just stay in position here. It’s not overly long but you can stretch it out from the tips. As the name suggests there are oaks but not lots of brooks. If you’re in position scoring low 80s upper 70s is almost automatic. Start missing fairways or playing other fairways and the challenges increase exponentially. Strong tee balls here will lead to low scores especially if you brought your putting game with you. Practice some bunker play and play lofted shots into these greens to maximize your scoring potential. Do not plan on eating breakfast there before you tee off as food options before 3pm exist but aren’t exactly ideal if you’re a breakfast sando type. Do not plan on teeing off post 1pm this time of year and expect to get all 18 in as pace can slow in the final 4 holes. Overall a great course as is its sister course.
