Tahoma Valley Golf & Country Club
About
Located just 45 minutes southwest of Tacoma, Tahoma Valley Golf Course has garnered a reputation for being the driest course in the Puget Sound. The course boasts well manicured greens that putt fast and true. The greens showcase the best of the Northwest's undulating, bump-and-run golf. Its location provides every hole with a stunning view of Mount Rainier. Just shy of 6,000 yards from the back tees, it's not an especially long layout but it is narrow enough to present a challenge. The wide fairways are forgiving, making it player friendly enough for beginners, and there are enough challenges to please high handicappers as well. With an abundance of mature trees throughout, Tahoma Valley Golf Course demands accuracy. The par 3s are particularly memorable for both their views and level of difficulty.

Very nice course
Mostly paved cart paths, very nice electric carts, greens in great shape
Great course
Only critique is the fairway grass was a bit long, and really wet in spots even though it had not rained in days. But I would play there again.. This is a pretty big course, a cart is recommended
Get what you pay for
Course is not in great shape some greens in bad shape. Cost to play is low. Pace of play has been terrible on the weekends as of late. Because of price course gets allot of less experienced golfers which slows the pace down. Depending on your skill level I would suggest avoiding peak hours.
Worst course
Charging full price for absolutely terrible conditions. Greens and tee boxes are in horrible shape.
This course either needs a new owner or new grounds staff or discounted rates. Take your money elsewhere. No driving range for warming up and new 17/18 holes are horrible designs. How is it that 2 brand new holes are basically dead grass already?
Marking
Would be nice to have distance markers on the fairways and improved tee areas.
Don’t waist your time
This course had so much going on, tee-boxes were just out there no real spot! The course is simple and boring! This was a great day to discover that i won’t ever come back!
Tahoma in mid June
Beautiful day, incredible view of Mt Rainer. I generally like this course. No marshals so pace of play could be better. One group seemed to have started on #10, which slowed play additionally??? Price of power carts is high. Overall good course. Greens are starting to show wear. Groundskeeper doesn't seem to understand common courtsey of players. Club house person needs a little help on how to be friendly.
Why?
Why would you keep letting 2 groups of 4 play as a 8some on a Saturday/holiday weekend. The Marshall was out on the course but never split them up and just instead followed behind them from time to time..
Play this course if nothing else is nearby
My friend and I showed up early to our tee time and the course had booked 4 teams on top of each other. The cart path was impossible to find sometimes, it crossed other tee boxes, and the course had absolutely no signage for direction to the next tee box. The pro shop staff was uninviting when checking in. They rushed us to play because the team in front of us had to go back to their cars after hitting their shots. So balls were confused and did not speed up the pace. Luckily the team let us play through but the course staff driving around didn’t really help with anything other than talking smack about the team originally in front of us.
The clubhouse staff was amazing, prompt with orders and knowledgeable for the menu.
