About
Located just 45 minutes southwest of Tacoma, Tahoma Valley Golf Course has garnered a reputation for being the driest course in the Puget Sound. The course boasts well manicured greens that putt fast and true. The greens showcase the best of the Northwest's undulating, bump-and-run golf. Its location provides every hole with a stunning view of Mount Rainier. Just shy of 6,000 yards from the back tees, it's not an especially long layout but it is narrow enough to present a challenge. The wide fairways are forgiving, making it player friendly enough for beginners, and there are enough challenges to please high handicappers as well. With an abundance of mature trees throughout, Tahoma Valley Golf Course demands accuracy. The par 3s are particularly memorable for both their views and level of difficulty.

Play this course if nothing else is nearby
My friend and I showed up early to our tee time and the course had booked 4 teams on top of each other. The cart path was impossible to find sometimes, it crossed other tee boxes, and the course had absolutely no signage for direction to the next tee box. The pro shop staff was uninviting when checking in. They rushed us to play because the team in front of us had to go back to their cars after hitting their shots. So balls were confused and did not speed up the pace. Luckily the team let us play through but the course staff driving around didn’t really help with anything other than talking smack about the team originally in front of us.
The clubhouse staff was amazing, prompt with orders and knowledgeable for the menu.

Great deal on Golfnow. 1 temp green on 17 and tee box was on an uphill slope. Other than that course was in good shape. Was 75 degrees day busy but not crowded.

Course was in good shape, hole 17 was shortened and has a temporary green. Greens were fast and ran true. Worth driving to play.

Had a great time playing. A very walkable course! 17th is in fix mode. But it's going to be nice. See you next week!

like the upgrade on the course and new tee box coming on a few holes ,, the green wow was really fast on Saturday,, overalls we had awesome time out
Disappointed - won’t be back
Very poor course condition. No 17th green - just a flag in the fairway. Tee boxes terrible. The women’s tees were like hitting from the rough. Strip of turf was harvested out of 18th green, leaving a long, sand rectangle the full length of the green.
Yes, it’s early in the season - but other courses we are playing are in much better shape! Terrible value - $44 per player at 6:30 am on a very rough course. Needless to say, we won’t be back.
Look elsewhere
There is no clear cart part and it extremely easy to get lost. Poorly filled in bunkers and grass clippings spread throughout making it difficult to locate balls not far off the fairway. Greens are right next to tee boxes while done tee boxes are shared for multiple holes.
Great course
Besides the 17th hole under repair, temporary green,. The course is great and the staff is awesome, always enjoy and look forward to playing there again.
