Tahoma Valley Golf & Country Club
About
Located just 45 minutes southwest of Tacoma, Tahoma Valley Golf Course has garnered a reputation for being the driest course in the Puget Sound. The course boasts well manicured greens that putt fast and true. The greens showcase the best of the Northwest's undulating, bump-and-run golf. Its location provides every hole with a stunning view of Mount Rainier. Just shy of 6,000 yards from the back tees, it's not an especially long layout but it is narrow enough to present a challenge. The wide fairways are forgiving, making it player friendly enough for beginners, and there are enough challenges to please high handicappers as well. With an abundance of mature trees throughout, Tahoma Valley Golf Course demands accuracy. The par 3s are particularly memorable for both their views and level of difficulty.

This course is friendly
The staff was friendly. The fairways were somewhat dry. The greens were in great shape. the pace was smooth and good.
Good wet weather course
My buddy and I play this course about twice a month. It was wet that day but course conditions were pretty good. I was able to chip well around the greens and the greens themselves were pretty true and fairly fast which was very surprising. Usually this time of year you run into slow greens.
We also noted that 5-6 tee boxes are getting redone which is excellent. And they will be ready by probably in the spring. It’s nice to see them doing some work on the course.
Solid choice
Good little course in Yelm. Rewards straight players. Trees line both sides most fairways. Current construction going on to improve some tee boxes and a brand new hole thanks to the city. You can hit all your clubs and the greens are pretty good too.
Great Course for the money.
Better then most courses in the PNW and at almost nearly half the cost! Worth the drive !
Poor conditions
Course is in dire straights. Grounds crew cannot keep the course cut properly and greens are slowest anywhere. Asking full price while course is in poor condition and under repair. Take your money elsewhere.
poor condition/ slow play
Course is very poor condition overgrown, play so slow left after 2 holes 40 mins in. Not worth the golf now discount never mind full price. I’m done with this course. Not the first time this has happened but definitely the last. Much improvement needed.
Fun, average course
Morning tee time...Unfortunately I could only play the front nine as the back 9 was closed for maintenance when I was there. So at the turn things were getting backed up.. I will be back to play soon to hopefully play the full 18.
Had to golf the back 9 twice. Fairway grass needs cut. Heavy sand on almost every green. Excavator working next to hole 17 the entire round.
Uneven tee boxes
The course offers plenty of challenges and birdie opportunities. If I could change one thing it would be the uneven tee boxes on several holes. You really have to pay attention to the ball position or pay the price. I hope that they get worked on one at a time and add to the quality of the course.
We really enjoy playing this course
Played in a short period of time. Overall a good course.
Great Course for the price
A lot of switch backs but overall great course. Love playing this course. Cheaper than most. No droving range though.
Mt Rainier views galore
Tahoma Valley is a course that is fun for all levels. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The greens are in great shape. Tremendous views of Mt Rainier makes this course worth the time to make the trip.
