Tahoma Valley Golf & Country Club
About
Located just 45 minutes southwest of Tacoma, Tahoma Valley Golf Course has garnered a reputation for being the driest course in the Puget Sound. The course boasts well manicured greens that putt fast and true. The greens showcase the best of the Northwest's undulating, bump-and-run golf. Its location provides every hole with a stunning view of Mount Rainier. Just shy of 6,000 yards from the back tees, it's not an especially long layout but it is narrow enough to present a challenge. The wide fairways are forgiving, making it player friendly enough for beginners, and there are enough challenges to please high handicappers as well. With an abundance of mature trees throughout, Tahoma Valley Golf Course demands accuracy. The par 3s are particularly memorable for both their views and level of difficulty.

Great first time
This was my 7 years old son and I first time ever playing golf. Staff at check in was great and people on the course were very friendly and great to my son. They encouraged him and were happy to see him starting so young. Definitely going back.
Amazing Greens
I've been here a few times this year and it has been in better shape each time and is looking really good.
Greens were very lush and green but slooow. Like they needed to skip a watering and also mow them a little shorter. Fairways in spots were rock hard, not watered and brown like hitting off concrete. I’m guessing water is expensive or they have restrictions to water certain areas. Overall course was decent , pace of play was great. I’d play here again earlier in summer when things are greener.
Great shape
The course is on better shape now it’s under new management. It’s a little dry in spots, but that’s to be expected since we haven’t had much rain.
The pace was slow at first, but once the men’s club finished their rounds, it picked up some.
Pace of Play
Decent course, fair value, and the staff is always friendly. The problem is that every time I've placed - maybe 15-20 times - the rounds go incredibly slow. Especially on the front 9. Sometimes they're 5 and a half to six hour rounds. Makes it hard to set a tee time when you have other things going on...
If they could fix the speed; it would be a go-to course for myself and my friends/family.
More Brown then I would Like
The greens were in good shape but the course had more bare and brown grass then the other courses around. Having said that I still had a good round of 18 holes. Food was good in the Bar and Grill. The carts are old but they steer and run good. Low rating is for the Bare spots and brown grass.
Worth it
Greens were in great shape!
Fairways were ok. Might want to allow for a lie improvement occasionally if you don’t stay on them (tree roots!)
Course is sneaky challenging, yet more than fair if you stay disciplined.
Staff was great and the 19 hole had great food and drink.
Give it a shot 👍🏻
Pleasant surprise
We booked this place with not much for expectations. Its a a good 1/2 way meet of for me and a buddy. We really liked the place and had a good time 0 complaints.
We already agreed that this is our new spot.
Good course for the price
Very nice course. Fairways running fast for lack of rain at this time of year but overall course in good condition
Fun round
Second time playing here in the last two years. A little out of the way from where I live but worth the drive. Course has few sand traps and holes are wide open with an occasional hole with a narrow tee shot window. Overall good course for mid to high handicap players. Greens were in excellent condition.

Great home course new owners doing a terrific job with the place!
Again
Took my grandson for a graduation time together. Pace and fellow golfers were great. The course was s good as it's ever been.
