Tahoma Valley Golf & Country Club
About
Located just 45 minutes southwest of Tacoma, Tahoma Valley Golf Course has garnered a reputation for being the driest course in the Puget Sound. The course boasts well manicured greens that putt fast and true. The greens showcase the best of the Northwest's undulating, bump-and-run golf. Its location provides every hole with a stunning view of Mount Rainier. Just shy of 6,000 yards from the back tees, it's not an especially long layout but it is narrow enough to present a challenge. The wide fairways are forgiving, making it player friendly enough for beginners, and there are enough challenges to please high handicappers as well. With an abundance of mature trees throughout, Tahoma Valley Golf Course demands accuracy. The par 3s are particularly memorable for both their views and level of difficulty.

Tahoma Valley
Nice little course. No golf range, but there is a pro shop and a restaurant on site. Some challenging holes and greens to make it interesting, but overall not difficult. Holes 1 and 2 are both par 5's. Hole 17 is the most difficult and both times I played this year the sprinklers were on midday and we all got soaked!
Below average but good price
Course layout is bad. Conditions were average at best. Greens are below average. Seems to be lots of novice golfers here. No ball washers, no Marshalls, pace of play was not good.
Quirky
Tahoma Valley is a quirky course with two par 5's out of the gate with a par 4 followed by two par 3's. Course gives you ample opportunity to score well while providing enough problems to make double bogey on several holes. With the amount of recent rain some areas balls were plugging, especially if not in the short grass. Greens already aerated and still a bit sandy but overall not too shabby at this point in the season.
Golf review
The courses greens were slow and bumpee there was no fairway and I think they should extend chipping green and add practice sand trap to it it just needs a little bit of care to be a great little course
Hot day, no water on course
Pro shop folks and Marshall were friendly but restaurant staff were awful.
No water on course, waitress would not fill my water bottle, no drinking fountain so had to fill bottle in bathroom or buy overpriced bottled water.
Fairways were shaggy. Lost a ball in middle of fairway.
First time
First time playing here. Nice place to play!
Tahoma Valley
Pros:
Quick pace of play.
15-18 is a fun stretch of holes.
Restaurant is a nice place to grab a bite after your round.
Cons:
Stacks up on the 1st tee.
Small greens.
Fairways could use a trim.
Excellent value
I have played this course several times. It has been in excellent shape all this late spring and early summer. It has several par 5 holes so a pretty long hitter has an advantage.
Not fun experience
The greens are so hard that the don't allow you to stick to the greens even with solid wedge shots. Also the layout has a few holes that make it almost impossible off the tee even if you have a solid strike of the ball. I know it's a cheaper course but you can go to Capitol city for a much greater experience on a fair course for almost the same amount.
Nice course
This wasn't the first time we played this course and it won't be the last. One negative about yesterday was we've been allowed to start on #10 in the past when there is a "backup" on #1 but yesterday the person working the pro shop wouldn't allow us to.
The course is nice and has some challenges, especially when there is water where water is suppose to be but it's been dry here. The course is mostly straight.
Great little course
Though it is a little short it is narrow enough to be challenging at times. Course was not too crowded (especially for a Saturday afternoon) and the bar was excellent. Good food and drink to be had and a very comfortable patio area. Give it a try!
Not a country club.
This course has generous fairways and challenging holes. Six par threes that are fun and addicting. This course left me wanting to take another crack at it and we did.
Good value for the money. For some reason people had a hard time putting the flagstick in the hole properly. 5 instances where we had to fix. Very annoying.
Not a country club course but a fun and entertaining round of golf.
Not much
It's ok if u don't need ur ball washed... or a drink of water .. or need to use a restroom.. or a level tee block. Not quite a cow pasture but close. Greens=C Fairways= C- Tees=C- Sand=C
Good little course
I found this course to be very nice for a shorter course of a little over 6000 yards. My only complaint would be that there were no tee boxes that were level. They really need to re-build all of them. Otherwise I had a lot of fun and the greens were fast.
fun course
the difficulty will increase when all the trees have leafed out. this was the first time played here and will go back. the staff was great, the beer was cold.
