Golfer Reviews
Good condition despite 103 degree heat
Course in good condition despite 103 degree heat two days prior to playing. Narrow fairways create target golf type play, for those that like that type of challenge. Lots of bunkers to add to the difficulty. Will play again soon
Quick round on a Sat. afternoon.
Took four hours on a Sat. afternoon. Not crowded. Course a little dry and hard, but not in bad shape overall.
Nice course - nice town
A little on the short yardage side, so we played the blue tees (even my wife played the blues). The course was in good shape, some holes were nicely challenging, the greens had nice undulations.
Very good Muni
Fun course, with a nice variety of holes; short par 4's very long par 4's. You use all the clubs in your bag. Good finishing holes.
A Davis Wetlands adventure
Wildhorse Golf Club in Davis is nestled in some natural wetlands and has burrowing owl habitat within the course boundaries. Those features can be treats or challenges.
Hit the ball straight and stay out of the hazards and this course can be fairly straightforward and fun.
Some forces carries across wetlands add to the difficulty and staying away from numerous lakes requires planning one's shots and executing - just like any round.
We found this a fun course and a good mid-week rate. It is busy so getting done under 4 hours will be a trick.
Great staff but.....
The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. The course was tops. However there was a lot of foot traffic which had my group waiting at the tee box. A few groups behind us skipped holes just to keep pace
It Could Be So Much Better
An average muni with exceptionally poor service! It's one thing to play a course with no signature hole or major characteristic. Yes, a beautiful day and good company can make up for a lot but, when the staff is as charismatic as blank wall paper, slow to serve and void of basic customer pleasantries, your already feeling like you've shot double bogey before you step on the first tee.
This group could use some 'off the course' customer service lessons...Over all Experience ...Double Bogey.
good course, terrible range
they need new mats and balls on the range... both were in really bad condition
Nice course
Enjoyed Wildhorse golf course, it deserves a return trip in near future!!
Cold day on the links
Very nice course. It was very cold and WINDY this day. Really had to know your yardage with your clubs.
One of our carts died on the 8th hole and we called the proshop and they said they would bring a cart out to us. Didnt happen. We picked up a new cart on the turn.
Course was in great shape. Greens are deceiving but very good roll. Layout is somewhat confusing and need to pay attention as to where the next hole is. LOTS AND LOTS of bunkers.
We really like the course and will be back again that is for sure.
Fun to play here
Nice place to have fun with friends and cost is affordable.
GREAT COURSE TO TEST YOUR $kill$
Not for beginners!!!! Score84!! Great course for the intermediate player looking to put all the practice at the range to the test. YOU are responsible for any property damage to surrounding houses. Oops!!!! The course is in great condition; greens are amazing. U.C. Davis golf team practice facility w/ 2 practice greens Not much as far as food and drink paid $4 for a warm gatorade ];{
First time playing
This is the first time I have played this course but it won't be my last. Pace of play just a touch slow but only because of a foursome in front of us that would not let us through. Marshall should have intervened. Other than that course was excellent. Looked like it was aerated a few weeks ago but healing very well.
Good Value for the Money
I got a great price on Golfnow. I was surprised about the quick pace of play, we finished in about 3.5 hours. BUT.....bunkers were hit or miss for having enough sand in them, some did, some didn't. Some fairways were over watered, no standing puddles but edges near cart paths were wet with puddles. We play here often and will be back again.
They allow 5-somes
This is the only course I've ever played on that allows 5 guys with three carts to all go out together. They really held up the pace of play and because of the recent time change, my partner and I were not able to finish all 18 holes.
HOW SWEET IT IS
Everybody was very nice, Play moved along fine until the final few holes. Course had punched greens recently but they were fine.
