Wildhorse Golf Course

Great winter conditions. Needs a little work in bunkers, so stay out of them. Fairways in good shape. Most greens also in good shape. Pace of play good Sunday 9:30 just under 4 hours. Good beer choices.... Have an out meal stout for breakfast.

I played at 12 42,,,and it was backed up when I started so I paired up with a single behind me,,there was a 3 some in front of us and a slow 4 some in front of them

The 2 some behind us paired with another 2 some for a while,,but then half that 2 some went on ahead of us,,We were told he worked maintenance at the course and played when he wanted to for no cost.

For some arrogant unexplainable reason the maintenance man decided to plop down in front of the 3 some ahed of us, and behind the slow 4 some. this happened about hole 7, and made the pace even slower.
I won't be back anytime soon,,dissapointing

Played Wildhorse for the first time and the course was great. Will be coming back.

This is a links style course with many holes having water hazard areas in play. The only major tree difficulties are parts of old walnut orchards. In these areas are many burrowing animal holes, as well as fallen nuts. Wind becomes a major factor, especially in the afternoon. Many holes have fairway bunkers in play, as well as greenside bunkers on all holes.
The course itself is in good condition for drought conditions. The greens have been carefully maintained.

This course was in good condition overall. Some of the greens are beat up by divot marks but that is not something the course can fix-it's on the people playing who don't have respect. I would play here again abd am glad I found a nice new place that's close.

Moderate challenge course, even with this drought the course still in fair condition, good course to play after work,1,8,17, nice holes 18 with wind conditions boogey is a good score...play it smart!!!!!!!

The course was in great shape but the greens were way to slow.

Beautiful course tucked away in the community of Davis. The course runs through some wonderful habitat areas that provide a sort of safari like experience.

Can't believe I have not played her before. I'll be back A LOT!

As a new resident in Sacramento I've decided to play as many courses as possible for the first time. I am happy to report that Wildhorse is a well conditioned and fun course which players of all levels can enjoy themselves. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make me feel as home as a first time player. I'd recommend Wildhorse to those looking for fun on a great course.

Enjoyable round, greens are soft, receptive, not fast but in good condition. Bunkers are firm packed, hard to do an explosion shot. Routing is interesting in and around environmentally sensitive areas. Take a cart, greens and tees are often far apart, can't really walk it and keep pace. I liked it and will play it again. Short course even from black tees (their blues) so many holes a driver isn't a good choice and not needed, better a long iron or 3 wood.

Kudos for course maintenance and original design. Bunkers need sand ( I know, it's expensive )

The course was in decent condition given water issues. The greens are getting roughed up by unfixed divots. The pace of play was fantastic.

Course in good condition despite 103 degree heat two days prior to playing. Narrow fairways create target golf type play, for those that like that type of challenge. Lots of bunkers to add to the difficulty. Will play again soon

Took four hours on a Sat. afternoon. Not crowded. Course a little dry and hard, but not in bad shape overall.

A little on the short yardage side, so we played the blue tees (even my wife played the blues). The course was in good shape, some holes were nicely challenging, the greens had nice undulations.

Fun course, with a nice variety of holes; short par 4's very long par 4's. You use all the clubs in your bag. Good finishing holes.

Wildhorse Golf Club in Davis is nestled in some natural wetlands and has burrowing owl habitat within the course boundaries. Those features can be treats or challenges.

Hit the ball straight and stay out of the hazards and this course can be fairly straightforward and fun.

Some forces carries across wetlands add to the difficulty and staying away from numerous lakes requires planning one's shots and executing - just like any round.

We found this a fun course and a good mid-week rate. It is busy so getting done under 4 hours will be a trick.

The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. The course was tops. However there was a lot of foot traffic which had my group waiting at the tee box. A few groups behind us skipped holes just to keep pace

An average muni with exceptionally poor service! It's one thing to play a course with no signature hole or major characteristic. Yes, a beautiful day and good company can make up for a lot but, when the staff is as charismatic as blank wall paper, slow to serve and void of basic customer pleasantries, your already feeling like you've shot double bogey before you step on the first tee.

This group could use some 'off the course' customer service lessons...Over all Experience ...Double Bogey.
