First time at Arizona National

My first time playing Arizona National. I live in Florida and I was visiting family in Tucson. Decided to try this course as I was already staying nearby. Great decision! The course was in really good shape, and the layout was very interesting. Truly a good example of dessert canyon golf. Great views of Tucson from the various elevated tees. Highly recommend this course as it will keep you engaged with excellent golf and beautiful scenery.

Tucson trip, family visit

Just an interesting and challenging course.

Great fairways and greens in a mountain setting of indescribable beauty.

Blind shots...require precision and tricky greens will sometimes frustrate you.

Bar and grill is a great way to end the day.

Arizona national golf

Great welcome. Hit a few warmups then actually got to play early between two foursomes. No pressure. Several blind shots.

Challenged myself by hitting blues. Gps on cart...excellent messaging and directions.

Slow but Beautiful

When golfers take ages to line up putts and then mark their ball and line it up again instead of continuing to putt out, when golfers need to get a reading of distance on every shot except putts, when golfers wait until after other golfers have played to finally decide which club to pull out of the bag and then change their mind, when golfers can only walk slowly to and from their carts to the green carrying on conversation instead of a brisk walk and focusing on the game, it all adds up to a round of golf lasting 5 hours or more and can be extremely frustrating. Ready golf, as played in New Zealand, takes three hours or less to play a round and that is with 4 players walking the course. It is time that we learned how from them. The course is in very good shape and it was enjoyable. Perhaps there was some sort of tournament in progress with the opportunity for someone to win a sleeve of golf balls but it was very slow with as many as three groups waiting to tee off.

Sometimes the forced layups on second shots because of the carry needed are a bit frustrating.
