DeBary Golf & Country Club
About
DeBary Golf & Country Club, a Lloyd Clifton-designed course sits on hilly land. The layout is fascinating. No two holes feel similar. Only two holes have water, but there is significant sand. Dense woods of pine and evergreen border the fairways. The rolling fairways and natural layout give the golf course a Carolinas feel. The par 5s are all in the 500- to 550-yard range. The par 3s are all approximately the same distance, running 180 to 190 yards from the back tees, and 150 to 160 yards from the white tees. DeBary is one of the few Clifton golf courses that do not top out at more than 7,000 yards.

Fallen tree while we were on green. Photo submitted by tbusfbulls10 on 04/21/2013
value for the $
great 18 holes with elevation changes, slow greens but it’s Florida in June….. played behind 4 old duffers that didn’t care one bit that a faster 2 some was behind them for the last 10 holes. these old crawlers didn’t have the courtesy to rake traps. either… smh
Wish it was in better condition
Great layout
Overpriced for the condition of the course
Didn’t tell us it had been air rated recently
Greens are slow and bumpy. They need sanded and rolled
To many bare spots on the fairways and around the greens
Slow
Maybe its time for courses to give a short etiquette lesson before allowing players to tee off? If you're a 4some and a single or 2some waiting behind you and no one is ahead of you for several holes then let them play through.
Love this one!
It was my first time playing this course and loved it. It was a little pricey compared to other courses nearby, but it was in immaculate shape.
Punched greens
I must have missed the PUNCHED GREENS in the recent reviews, otherwise I would have played somewhere else. They are also doing some course maintenance- #2 tee box is being renovated, excavations in the 11th fairway and various other areas are being improved. The layout is nice and the pace of pay was about 3:30. But I think Mother’s Day and the condition of the greens kept people away. Once the greens are puttable, I would come back, so it will be at least 4 weeks or until I see the reviews reflecting the greens are back.
Nice!!
5 star course in my opinion. Just came at a bad time as the greens were being sanded.
Nice layout
One of my favorite courses in the area. They’ve done a great job at revitalizing the course. Due to construction, it took a bit of a hit, but it’s back!!
The good the bad and the ugly
Course is good and with the ongoing improvements it will only get better.
Bad - apparently the membership is allowed to insert itself at any point onto the course and leave in the same manner. A single woman was suddenly in front of us on hole 12 and left at hole 15.
Ugly - staff insisted that I give him my phone number
when checking in. I told him that I was never asked that when I checked in to play - NEVER. He also
insisted that the person with whom I was playing had to come in to give his phone number as well.
Great course for a round of golf
We like to play at the Debary course. Staff is friendly and reservations through Golfnow work out well. Course is in good condition, greens well kept. There is construction going on on a hole or two but nothing too inconvenient. Had a great time!!
long hitter
love the course, greens were excellent ,and a great layout
Overall nice experience, have played there numerous times
They had recently punched the greens and fairways, so considering that, the course was in really nice shape. The bartender at the clubhouse restaurant was so incredibly nice and attentive.
In overall value, i'd say it's pretty comparable to nearby courses like Timacuan, Eagle Dunes, Red Tail, Black Bear
