So good.
I found this course to be a really well maintained course, fairways were clearly fairways, green are a 4/5… pace of play was a little crappy, but then I was alone with a cart. Overall a 4.7 for me… will love to play in the summer…. Nice!
Nice course slow play
I like George Dunne but the pace of play was terrible. In the winter and limited playing time from about 10am to 330pm most of the 30 people on the course were booked between 10-1200 so the front became crowded with many walkers.
I requested that we tee off the back and then see the starter to go off the front. The back was completely empty they said no stating that people might come (no one on tee sheet after 130pm) we were 1130 tee time and would have made the turn about 130. So we had to play a slow round 4.5 hours behind slow play.
I will avoid this course.
Cart paths are very dangerous and need repairs
Also bunkers need raking and additional sand
Good layout ... Poorly maintained. Cart paths on #s 14 and 15 need repairs badly
People at the check in are very nice and helpful. Interesting course design with plenty of water and sand bunkers. BUT... cart paths need urgent repair, especially around holes #14 and #15.
Excellent Layout... Fairways and greens in great shape, but some sections of the cart paths are in really bad condition.
George Dunne National has one of the best layouts in the area. The Fairways and Greens are in very good condition (thanks to the rain we had recently). The difficulty is moderate for a good golfer but somewhat challenging for seniors like me. The cart paths on several holes are in really pathetic condition. They need urgent repairs.
Excellent fairways, greens and tee boxes.
The fairways, tee boxes and greens were in excellent shape. Cart paths were in poor condition but the course was in the best shape and that what counts. Overall, a fun day to golf.
Sand traps
Great course, one of my favorites in the area. Only concern is the sand traps. Even in the warmer weather, the traps are more like dirt and pretty hard than sand. Not all of them but most of them are pretty tough to hit out of because of the hardness of them.
This is a great course
Wonderful golf course except for the bunkers which are essentially unplayable and the cart paths which are almost dangerous in many places.
A challenging public course with some great value.
We played in November, so, of course, the course was a little rough. The sand traps were water logged and the rough was a little out grown. However, the course layout is superb. Course plays 6600 yards from the whites and most greens are protected by sand traps. Avoid the concession stands, though. I paid $3.50 for a bag of stale fruit snacks.
Great shape
The course is in great shape for the end of the year and the leaves were no where to be found. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get out one last time this year.
Sand traps unplayable/slow play
Always loved the layout and the 12 minute spacing between groups helped mitigate extended 5 hour plus rounds. The back 9 was snail pace slow, drainage issues and lack of maintenance effectively made hitting into any trap a free drop, since the multitude on traps on the where in terrible condition. Our group would suggest removing the traps if they cannot meet basic standards. Thanks for listening.
Course operator here. Thank you for writing a note of feedback, and we understand that it may have been a viable option to play the back, then front. But with the weather in a wait-and-see mode the last few days, we made the judgement call to manage everyone's expectations, especially if we were to have some walk-ups as you were trying to make the turn. There are some significant projects coming up at George Dunne, and we'd love to have you back. If you'd like to discuss further, please reach out directly at info.georgedunne@forestpreservegolf.com.
