Good Shape
The course was in very nice shape and played very well. Challenging on some holes and other holes played very well to all levels of your game. They sell you big boy beers in the clubhouse which is a nice surprise for those of us that enjoy a few cold ones on the course. They also have a grill with some very tasty burgers and hot-dogs. I played this course at 3pm on a Saturday so there was some expected wait times that you can expect on a weekend. This course didn't do a very good job at making sure pace of play was followed. The 2-some ahead of us was hitting 2-3 balls per shot which was not very good etiquette. They were also wearing non-golf attire which shows you the type of playing partners you could receive. Overall I would play this course again but would rather play during the week to avoid the long length of play. "While we're young".
Had a great time
Had a great time esp with my group of guys. It was a great day golfn with my son.
the course was in fair condition, a lot of the sand traps were unplayable, the greens were recently aerated and were very firm, fast and didnt hold v
I've played this course many of times and this time the course wasin need of lots of repairs and attention.
Nice course to play.
The course was in nice shape . T he greens where fast and true.Sand traps need a little work.
Bad Trap City
I have been playing this place from the opening and found the fairways in the best shape yet. The greens have come along very nice, and the traps at dunn are still very bad. they should fill them all in and start all over again.
Wet and Wild
For all the rain we have had the past few weeks I thought the course was in great shape. I am not a fan of cart paths only rules but understand why they do it Needless to say it was cart path only when we played.
Overall this course was fun and challenging. I thought it was the right price for the course.

always fun and challenging...IF....
The "if" refers to how busy the course is on any given day. We played a light day, and STILL got backed up toward the end. They oversell this course some days, and when they do, forget it. Five hour-plus rounds are not in my bag, and causes my game to suffer...
Greens were unbelievably slow, but probably due to recent rains.
Very nice layout, sand traps needed raking or something. Again, could have been because of all the recent storms. Good deal for $40, though.
Great Course Layout, SLOW PLAY, bumpy greens
Fabulous layout and a real value. A Gem of a course. Greens need work, too slow and too many un-maintained gouges. A little TLC by staff, and warnings to players are needed. Course is too good to have it ruined by conditions on the greens. Pace of play is very painfully slow. 5 hours minimum, even if starter says 4.5. Clue is that pace tracked on GPS carts is against 4.5 hr round.
One of the best layouts of any public course, anywhere. Will challenge any player, and multiple tees for every ability. Disappointed in players who hack up course, play very slowly, and look like they are dressed to clean their basement.
Great Course
Easy drive from the City. Challenging but fair course. Fairways were in excellent shape but the rough had a few problem areas. Staff was very friendly and flexible. I will definitely add this to my list to play every year.
Disappointed with management - Course is nice
We had a 7:40 am tee time and when we checked in they told us there would be a 20 minute frost delay. We decided to get a bucket of balls each to kill some time. The disappointment comes in poor communication and management since the 20 minute delay turned into 1.5-2 hours. We didn't tee off until after 9:15 am and of course had a good 5-7 minute wait at each tee box through all 18 holes. This is just poor management and they weren't even courteous of the issues. I feel as though they could have at least tossed in the bucket of balls to kill time and/or given golfers a hot dog at the turn as a thank you for business and the two hour delay when we were told it would be 20 minutes.
Best Bang for your buck in the South Suburbs!
George Dunne is not only one of the best courses in the south suburbs, but it is also the best value in the area. The course is challenging and requires use of every club in the bag. Although it is certainly challenging, it is also fun to play, as golfers of all abilities have the chance to score well. There are certainly plenty of spots to get into trouble, but it is not unfair to the point where you won't enjoy the round or the course. The only downside is that since the course is such a great layout and such a terrific bargain, that it gets plenty of play and as such, rounds tend to take longer than the recommended 4 to 4-1/2 hours. I like to play fast but I don't mind waiting at a course of this quality.
Best layout on south side!
Excellent course! Great layout, very challenging. Over 7k yards from tips, huge greens and none are flat, roll really well and kept in great shape. tough to find a more challenging back 9. only downside is pace of play, not many courses around this area of this quality and they pack the golfers in. Expect 5 hours plus MINIMUM unless you are teeing it up at sunrise.
Fantastic
This is one of the finer courses that’s publicly owned. Every green has its unique challenge.
Slow, challenging round
$30 discounted rate + frost delay = lots of golfers and long waits at every whole. Course conditions were pretty good for November, but the slow play put a damper on an otherwise enjoyable round.
I would have at least given out free buckets of balls for the range to people to kill time during the hour and a half delay prior to tee off
Really like the layout of this course
The course was in great shape for so late in the season. It has a good variety of holes. Lots of bunkers, a fair amount of water and some tight fairways. The greens were in really good shape as well. Their was a frost delay which made our tee time a little more than an hour late. The staff handled the situation very well and the round kept moving even thought it took over 5 hours. I have played there before and it didn't take that long. I would definitely recommend this course. There are 4 sets of tees and a sign at the first tee stating which handicaps should play from which sets. If only people would follow those.
this is a very nice course
i have played this course many times . it is a great course that is challenging yet very playable. i love the lay out and it is pretty well maintained.
Outstanding public access facility
Brad's uncle here!!
I was in Chicago for a family wedding and my nephew took me here. What a nice place - good layout, well-maintained, and a good mixture of challenging holes. The course is also aesthetically pleasing with no "stupid or tricked up hole designs". The different tees are what take you from easy to difficult but the fast greens (which I like) keep all player on their toes. The course is aboslutely affordable compared to other public access courses I've played. (something like $40 to ride on a weekday) I'd certainly consider this an above average public course and will play again the next time I'm back in Chicago.
Laughably unfriendly staff
Played here with a buddy of mine and we were berated by 2 players in the foursome behind us for slow play. It was actually incredibly comical given that we were waiting on every shot for the group in front of us and we're both very fast players. One of the 2 golfers who chewed us out was a course staffer. The layout is great, but the whole experience was laughably off-putting.
