Ledges Golf Club
About
The Ledges Golf Club in South Hadley is tucked away in the Pioneer Valley, an area of western Massachusetts known for its lush, rolling hills. It is a favorite amongst locals since it is one of the best values in the region. The course enjoys scenic views that stretch to Mt. Tom and the Holyoke Range. It is on the shorter side at just over 6,500 yards from the back tees, but the dramatic changes in elevation make it seem much longer. Most of the greens are raised with steeply sloped sides, making accuracy essential since missing them by even just a few feet will result in a serious penalty. The golf course has a heavily wooded front nine that seamlessly transitions into a more open back nine featuring links-style holes. The Ledges is a shotmaker's course that offers several interesting risk-reward opportunities.

Ledges Number Four, Par 4, 276. The fairway is narrow, with precious little bail-out to its right. A driveable hole for the bold. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

# Nine, Par 5, 528. These bunkers will snare many an approach shot that is sliced or pushed. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The 10th is a classic downhill par-5 of 564; it’s a three-shotter for all but very long, straight hitters. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The massive bunker that sides green eleven could be a nightmare for those who aren’t all that handy with a sand wedge. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

Eighteen (from the left rough): Great finisher where you’ll want to avoid every one of the seven fairway bunkers, including these three. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The final hole as seen from its right rough. Getting up and down around this green is no simple task. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

Great Course
Played with a large group called the Safari Club,we have a group of men and women in this group. The course was in excellent shape. The staff was great and welcomed us and made our day.I would absolutely recommend this course.
Well oganized event
I played with 130 people from the Safari Club who represents one of the largest group of friendly golfers in New England. The group was welcomed by a staff of trained personnel upon arrival into the parking area. The staff took your bags and placed them on your specified golf cart assigned to a predesignated hole. The course was in excellent condition and the pace of play was somewhat tolerable based the the amount of golfers in the event. Many thanks to the Recreation Department of South Hadley and all the fine staff on the golf course, dining facilities and pros shop.
Giood time had by all
Had an enjoyable day with the Safari Club playing a course in great condition. Greens where fast but true and the fairways gave you good lies and opportunities to score. As always the times I have played, the staff was very friendly and helpful when needed.
Enjoy the course
I love playing this course and every round seems to be get better and better.
Nice Round
Played almost every course within in a 30 mile radius and this is one of the best. Challenging in a manner that doesn't frustrate you. Perfect for intermediate to advanced. Will play again.
Went with friends
As a Safari member I got a very big discount, only $28.00. The course was in excellent shape.
Very good condition on fairways and greens but bunkers could use some TLC. Green were just plugged in the morning but still OK.
Great conditioned thinker's course
It was an overcast day, with a bit of rain. Except for some low areas, the course handled the water well. It was in very good condition, with the greens smooth and quick, but not ridiculously fast. At 6,100 yards from the blues, it is not long. Ledges has some tempting par 4's that you might think about driving the green, but might be better served laying up and taking the wedge into. A nice balance of par 3's, ranging from 100 yds. up to 215 yds. and other par 4's on the longer side.
The pro shop staff was friendly and helpful, as was the restaurant attendees. Overall, I consider it a great value for the money and would play here more often if I lived closer.
Great course, in good shape, must play.
Hot day, nice breeze, good views. This course is in good shape tees to greens, interesting layout, good mix of shot requirement, some blind shots.
Greens could be faster, need cutting. Otherwise this course is a must on your list.
First time at Ledges
Our tee time was immediately following a fundraiser golf tournament and the players we followed were not golfers so it was slow play for much of the round.
Dinner at the 19th hole was delicious and prices were very reasonable.
We will return!
Pretty little course
Happy to be playing golf in December in western Mass.. This is a pretty little course with beautiful mountain views. Course conditions were good but not great. Certainly adequate for this time of year in New England. I did find the fairways very divoty (if that's a word) and the sand traps were rather pebbly. Tees were all forward so I didn't get a good feel of playing from full length in prime season. Could not fairly judge the greens as they had just been aerated. Staff was very friendly. Would happily return again next season.
Fall Golf
Course was in excellent shape, fairways and greens were blown clean of leaves. Staff was very friendly and welcomed us back- they hope to stay open till mid-December
GREAT
I play this course several times each year, and I'll continue as long as they keep up their great work with the overall condition. It's a fun course that makes golf
truly enjoyable. I'll keep coming back....Thanks
