Ledges Golf Club
About
The Ledges Golf Club in South Hadley is tucked away in the Pioneer Valley, an area of western Massachusetts known for its lush, rolling hills. It is a favorite amongst locals since it is one of the best values in the region. The course enjoys scenic views that stretch to Mt. Tom and the Holyoke Range. It is on the shorter side at just over 6,500 yards from the back tees, but the dramatic changes in elevation make it seem much longer. Most of the greens are raised with steeply sloped sides, making accuracy essential since missing them by even just a few feet will result in a serious penalty. The golf course has a heavily wooded front nine that seamlessly transitions into a more open back nine featuring links-style holes. The Ledges is a shotmaker's course that offers several interesting risk-reward opportunities.

Ledges Number Four, Par 4, 276. The fairway is narrow, with precious little bail-out to its right. A driveable hole for the bold. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

# Nine, Par 5, 528. These bunkers will snare many an approach shot that is sliced or pushed. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The 10th is a classic downhill par-5 of 564; it’s a three-shotter for all but very long, straight hitters. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The massive bunker that sides green eleven could be a nightmare for those who aren’t all that handy with a sand wedge. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

Eighteen (from the left rough): Great finisher where you’ll want to avoid every one of the seven fairway bunkers, including these three. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The final hole as seen from its right rough. Getting up and down around this green is no simple task. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

Challenging Course
Played this yesterday with the Safari Club. Great course. Very interesting layout with scenic views. No two holes are alike. Course was in excellent condition from tee boxes to fairways to greens. Staff was very accommodating. Special kudos to the Pro, Jim Falco. He was there when we arrived in the morning, helping folks with their clubs and getting them organized in their carts. He also checked in on us during the round to ensure that the pace of play was good. It was, as this was the best pace that we've had all year. The Ledges is lucky to have Jim on board as he is a great representative.
Safari Club Event
You'll enjoy this course and the scenery in the hillsides.
Course will test your skills in a fair manner and give you a reward for nice shots. Greens are fast so you can improve your putting skills. Book your tee time soon. Staff is excellent and will go out of their way to make sure your day is enjoyable.
Great Surprise
Haven't played here the last few years because the previous pro went out of his way to make people feel uncomfortable and unwanted.
The course has always been a good one and is in amazingly great shape, especially given the drought we've had this year.
But what shocked everyone in our group was the way the new staff treats everyone. They take the word "professional" very seriously and you just won't find a better environment to play a round of golf anywhere.
This is a municipal golf course that makes you feel like you're playing a private club. But without the often pretentious behavior many of the private clubs seem to display.
This course is certainly one that deserves a lot of play.
Great time at a great course
Played the course with the Safari Club and had a great experience. Have played the course in the past and it always has been and still is in great shape from Tee box to green on every hole. The staff was equal to or better than the course. A must play if you are in the area.
Muni plays like private
My friends in The Safari Club and I had the pleasure of playing here and all I can say is I swear it was an exclusive private country club. Lush fairways, thick rough, excellent greens, outstanding views from everywhere make this a wonderful venue to play.
The staff was friendly and very accommodating and the food after the round was very good.
There are lots of opportunities for birdies or better on a few risk/reward holes, but you need to play it more than once to realize the opportunity and for the muni price, it can and should be a done deal!
Playing here in Oct. should be on your bucket list to enjoy the foliage that surrounds this tract.
Plush Golf Course
I played The ledges yesterday with The Safari Club and I have to say that the course was in excellent condition given the drought conditions this summer.
The fairways and greens were excellent offering great lies and fast, true greens. Kudos to the Super and staff for keeping the place so nice.
A stop in the 19th hole is necessary with great food offerings and good service.
Check it out and you will be pleased!
Safari Adventure.....
The course speaks for itself..always in good shape.... Greens are fast...rough a little long....good value..
But the new management team is very good. The last team was indifferent and the service was mediocre at best.
This new team is making every attempt to restore confidence in the course and staff..it does make a difference!
Safari outing
It takes more than beautiful mountain views, consistent speed on the greens, and rolling fairways to make a great golf day. Ledges had all of those, but the really great thing was the friendliness of the staff. Jim Falco (the pro) was loading our bags in the morning and driving the whole course asking how were doing and just kinda checking in with us. The Safari club was treated very well. The course is certainly woman friendly too.
super day of Golf with the Safari Golf Club
Yesterday I played golf with the Safari Golf Club at ledges in South Hadley. The Staff is the most helpful that we have experienced for far this year. The course was in excellent shape and the greens were very fast. After the round we had luch at their club house and it was super. I can not wait to play the course again.
Great course
Played with the Safari club, 130 golfers, not a scramble.
Pace of play was very good, beautiful layout, great staff. I will be back !!
A Safari Club Favorite!
All I can say is Outstanding! As soon as you drive in, and see the very scenic 15th. hole, you have to wonder what's the rest of this track going to be like? Well your about to find out. What an awesome Head Pro. Mr. James Falco is. This Pro should be a role model to all of his peers period. He also surrounded himself with a excellent staff waiting to make sure your experience there is one to remember. The track is one of the best in our entire area. Make sure you stop in at the 19th hole for a Beverage and a bite to eat, and the continued great service doesn't stop there either. This is a must play!!!
on August 17th i played Ledges with the Safari Golf Association
What a great golf course, All different kinds of challenges with the course layout.
Greens and Fairways were in excellent condition, the head pro even helped some of us with our golf bags
when we got there Impressive
The food in the 19th hole was also good as well looking forward to playing there again

Hidden Gem , love that Bent Grass!!
Played with the Safari Group yesterday ,if you like GREAT conditions and silk greens this is a go to track.
The Staff was very friendly ,the director of golf was there to lend a hand and welcome the 100 Plus in our group.
You will be hard pressed to find a bad lie in the fairway and if you like fast perfect greens the Ledges should be your go to place to play your next round.
The food and service is unmatched in the area!
Hidden Jewel
Excellent course well off the beaten path. We're in the middle of a tough drought but the course was green, soft and in pretty darn good condition. Fantastic greens and fairways. Some tight holes, well place water but extremely fair layout. Not overly long. We played the blue tees, which played to 6100 yards. Blacks would have been around 6500 yards and that would have been a very good test.
Safari Club Member
For this time of the year when it is very dry the course is in very good shape. They must put many gallons of water on the fairways and the greens. Its in grate shape.
Safari adventures
Courses in good shape...greens in great shape...pace of play slow....open holes but no ranger to move groups along...we were a visiting organizations and treated very well.. Rode with a former member and got history lesson on golf course. Including members finding original Donald Ross plans and bringing course back to original design.
Fun Course
Played on 7/2/16 This was a fun course. The course its self was in good condition. No complaints. A couple real fun holes (#4 in particular). I walked, which i wouldn't do again... To get to the 5th hole there is quite a long hike, not to mention getting back to the 9th you have to make the same hike again followed by the 9th hole being uphill. So just take a cart instead and enjoy this nice fun course. Restaurant had nice views and good food. I think there was a driving range.. but it was off the beaten path and you had to drive a cart or your car there.
Risk/reward
A tight course at times. Amazing fairways. So soft. So green with no rain for over 2 weeks. Well maintained. Greens hold nicely. Putting is moderate for aggressive putting. Top shape. Distance isn't key here. Fairways and GIR is the key. Love this place! Great staff.
Good Deal Nice Course
Course was in great shape. Price was good and the staff was great!
Great course
This is one of the best courses I have every played.
