Ledges Golf Club
About
The Ledges Golf Club in South Hadley is tucked away in the Pioneer Valley, an area of western Massachusetts known for its lush, rolling hills. It is a favorite amongst locals since it is one of the best values in the region. The course enjoys scenic views that stretch to Mt. Tom and the Holyoke Range. It is on the shorter side at just over 6,500 yards from the back tees, but the dramatic changes in elevation make it seem much longer. Most of the greens are raised with steeply sloped sides, making accuracy essential since missing them by even just a few feet will result in a serious penalty. The golf course has a heavily wooded front nine that seamlessly transitions into a more open back nine featuring links-style holes. The Ledges is a shotmaker's course that offers several interesting risk-reward opportunities.

Ledges Number Four, Par 4, 276. The fairway is narrow, with precious little bail-out to its right. A driveable hole for the bold. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

# Nine, Par 5, 528. These bunkers will snare many an approach shot that is sliced or pushed. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The 10th is a classic downhill par-5 of 564; it’s a three-shotter for all but very long, straight hitters. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The massive bunker that sides green eleven could be a nightmare for those who aren’t all that handy with a sand wedge. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

Eighteen (from the left rough): Great finisher where you’ll want to avoid every one of the seven fairway bunkers, including these three. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The final hole as seen from its right rough. Getting up and down around this green is no simple task. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

Great golf for the money
Although golf cart path only due to recent heavy rains the course was good, greens fast and fairways mostly dry. Some narrow fairways makes this course fun challenge to play
GREAT CONDITIONS
THE STAFF AT LEDGES MADE THE CORRECT DECISION WAITING AN EXTRA COUPLE WEEKS TO OPEN, SOME OF THE OTHER LOCAL COURSES WERE DAMAGED BY EARLY PLAY. LEDGES IS MY FAVORITE COURSE AND EVERY YEAR THEY ARE CHANGING IT FOR THE BETTER. GOOD WORK, SEE YOU NEXT WEEK.
Very Nice Course
The course was beautiful and very well maintained. Staff was very helpful. A class act.
Very fun course.
Many options off the tee. Keep it in play and score well. Trouble lurks. Amazing amount of bunkers. Sand was excellent.
Nice course, interesting layout.
The course was in pretty good shape considering all of the rain we have had. The pace was a little slow because carts were restricted to cart paths only due to the weather.
Western Mass. hidden gem.
Conditions were excellent and course was well maintained. Nice job blowing off the leaves. 19th hole staff very friendly. Food was good. We played two days in a row and will absolutely play there again next year. Views were outstanding.
great condition
The course was in excellent condition and the staff was friendly. The pace of play was good. Booking a t time was a cinch.
Great course for the price
A great course to play for the price. The course was well maintained and the pace of play was excellent. It has a nice variety of holes with great views. We would recommend this course, especially for the price. We will be playing it again.
Would very much recommend The Ledges!
Conditions were better than most courses in the area. Tee Boxes and Fairways were in excellent condition. Greens are faster than most courses and the ball rolls well. Only complaint on the greens are the multitude of pitch marks, those not repaired, or in process of healing.
Golf shop pro's were friendly and helpful.
Restaurant is very good for an after 18 cocktail and lunch.
Solid course
Fun course. Has challenging holes as well as some par 4's you can drive. Fairways were great. Greens had been aerated recently so not in perfect condition.
Definitely worth the visit
First time I have played here, but will not be the last. Fairways and greens are in fantastic condition. Greens had just been fertilised so were a little sandy at time but not to much of a problem. Great views and good pace of play.
very woman friendly course
Loved the course. Would definitely play again. Very scenic
One of the best public courses in W. Mass
Course was in great shape with the exception of a couple fairways that had some bare spots, but overall the course was very green. The holes are challenging, but from the white tees there are 2 par 4's that are very driveable and 2 par threes that were like pitch and putt holes. I would reccomend playing from the black tees or the blues. The greens looked nice, but they were being airrated so they didnt roll true, but I cant complain about them airrating the greens. Overall this is a top 5 public course in W. Mass. Definatley will return.
Great layout
Good course. Pro shop kid wasn't the best. Great value would def play again. Scenic course excellent layout. Wish there was a map on the score card. Greens in great shape but some holes from aerator were sloppy
Fun course and in good condition.
Definitely will play again in next visit. Fun and enjoyable. Good scenic.
This course has great features.
Fantastic course! Excellent condition. Fairways, greens, rough all very full and very green! Very friendly staff. Will be definitely returning and recommend it to any golfer.
Course was being aerated not at it's best
Course was being aerated not at it's best, but the Ledges is an amazing course and for the the hot deal of $16 to play the first 9 holes twice is so worth it.
Nice scenery
This coarse played very well for a Muni property.
Staff was very nice, can't wait to come back with some friends.
Great views better than average conditions outstanding mix of holes.
Hidden gem, the course conditions were near pristine, the layout was challenging but fair, four sets of tees and lady friendly . The mix of of long and short holes made play interesting, you have to hit every club in the bag. The green complexes are well done.Take a cart there are long walks between some of the holes.Print up and bring your Golfnow reservation the ask for it.Two small negatives thy had no scorecards, had to use paper copies and someone was playing with metal spikes(and had no regard for the greens).
Overall we had a 9out 10 experience and will be back.
Rare Gem
Course is challenging in some spots. Really beautiful layout and the greens are the most impressive. I cant wait to go again.
