Dirt and overgrown Clovers...yay! Photo submitted by PrettyPrettyGood on 06/13/2016
Nice staff but rough condition
The staff was nice but the course was in rough condition. The tee boxes were pits of sand, they had multiple temp holes, and no variation in count layout
Great challenge for the price.
Cool lil course for the frugal golfer. Super nice staff. Clean gas carts. Challenging course, will score better knowing course. Airated greens running at a 12. Frost last week made Bermuda dormant. Beautiful views from tee box- the greens. Fun course with an outstanding staff. Only issue playing partner had was bathroom on 6/12 was locked. Asst pro Sharron/Cheryl in proshop makes you feel like a regular at the course. Very enjoyable.
Decent course for the price
Hard to judge a course's condition this time of year so i will be fair. Most of the course seems to be in good condition for this time of year. Some greens were pretty rough and i happen to know that its not just this time of year. The greens at this course definitely have room for improvement. Some greens at this course are nearly impossible to keep the ball near the hole. Some greens force your ball all the way off the green even with a nearly perfect shot. I do not like that there is an 80 yard temp hole which makes 10 holes on the front and only 8 on the back. Hard to judge how you would score on a full length course. I like that the pace of play is always good here. I like the challenge that comes with some of the holes and i like the prices amd friendly staff. I just want them to get this course fixed so that i have a desire to play here more often. Good for the price if you dont mind some less than ideal conditions.
Needs some simple work
I think the course is fun and has the potential to be a really nice course if if a couple things can be fixed. I think the most important thing that need to be fixed are the tee boxes a lot of them are so hard you can barely get a tee in and there are two or three tee boxes do not even have grass in them. There are also some greens that are in pretty bad shape. But it's not too bad of a course especially if you can get it on golf now.
Off my list
I played this course about a month ago and was surprised by the condition. This is a course I've always like over the years. I went back on the 25th of November and for the most part the course was in good shape but the greens are slowly being takeover with black mold. The rest have spots of mold starting. Sorry I really liked this course but as others around here money becomes a big problem and so the courses suffer.
Nice track, but a little disappointing
The course really has a nice setting. However, we were not impressed with the condition of the course. We were not informed one of the par 3's was closed, the greens were in rough shape and the tee boxes were terrible. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and weather was perfect!
Great Course! Excellent Staff!
Oak Hills is a great course just a short drive north from Nashville. They have an excellent team at the course that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the pro shop to the moment you leave the course. The course itself is a very fun layout and I really enjoyed the overall experience. It is an exceptional value and I would recommend Oak Hills to anyone.
Pleasantly surprised but layout somewhat confusing
Found this course through a Hot Deal. I didn't know what to expect, but I'm trying to teach my 10 year-old son how to play golf and I couldn't resist the price. Basically, it is a good course with moderate challenges. The hole layout can be tricky to decipher and it is hilly in several places. I would hate to play the course on a "cart path only" day. The back 9 plays much faster than the front 9 but both are similar yardage. Several "over water" shots but no sand traps. It is a good course for my son and they encourage junior golfers by giving them a price break on fees. I'm no expert on golf courses or on golf, but I would say it is an average course but with a Hot Deal price it becomes a really good course!!
We want to thank you for giving our golf course a try. We do want to encourage the next generation of golfers. We hope you will continue to return in the future as we continue to make improvements to the course.
Oakhills
Glad I only paid Golf now hot deal price. Was not impressed with the course at all. GPS not updated greens in fair condition. No grass on tee boxes what there was for a tee box. Literally 2 clubs deep 10 yards wide no grass. Of couse not all the boxes. And to be honest not all were bare, as I was playing the blues because of the length. Some were okay. Only met 1 staff person so that was okay she was friendly . Not sure if I would play it again. I saw someone post about winter kill ..... it's July. Not a grass expert but could something have been done by now?
I want to thank you for your heart felt review. We can see that any first timer might be very disappointed in our product. Since going under new management in 2014 we have been slowly attempting to improve the product working from the greens backwards towards the tees. We have been getting poor reviews on our tee boxes for many years and they are on our long range plan. Most players that have been coming to the course over the last three years will state that they have seen much improvement to the course. We hope that you will give us another chance in the future as we continue to work to improve the course. As a non profit operation is is hard to generate the funds to make improvements without annual and daily fee members willing to come and support the course.
Again, I want to thank you for your feed back and I hope you will come back again next year and see if we are not continuing to make improvements.
Oak hills condition
It has been over a year since I've played here. The course has been changed quite a bit on several holes due to selling some of their property. I wasn't a fan of the new holes and one of them on the front 9 was very confusing where to aim for the fair way. The course Tee boxes were pretty terrible, very little grass on about half of the tee boxes.
Oak Hills -- Yes, There are Hills
Probably the hilliest course I have ever played, and that's saying something -- I grew up playing a hilly course in Nashville.
Course condition -- the greens were smooth, soft, and receptive. The fairways, for the most part, had a good stand of Bermuda grass, but there were bare spots, especially on hole #6. Several tee boxes had suffered winter kill and were 50% bare.
Layout -- the front nine of this course has been altered due to the sale of some property to developers (the former hole #7 is now residences). The former hole #2, a killer par-5, has been split into a short par-3 and a par-4 (holes #5 & #6). SkyCaddie has not been updated, so it was difficult to discern yardages on some front-9 holes. The hilly layout created several blind shots.
My only complaint about this course is the back-nine par 3's, especially #16. A tiny, bare tee box tucked back in the trees, with a 150-yard carry over water, to a narrow green protected by water front and left, and trees right and back. There is simply no room to miss your tee shot here. And #13, a 96-yard par-3, appears as if they ran out of real estate after 17 holes and decided to place a tee box and green along the lake.
Local knowledge is a must. You have to know where and where not to hit the ball. I'll play it again simply to see how much better I score now that I have some familiarity with the course. And the beer is relatively cheap -- only $10 for a six-pack.
Terrible conditions
I've played town parks with more grass on them. Aside from the greens, which for the most part were in decent shape, most of the course is in abs9olute shambles. The fairways were littered with bare patches of soft dirt. What grass there was on the fairways was overgrown to the point where you couldn't tell the rough and fairway apart. The worst part was absolutely the tee boxes. See my attached pictures; there is barely any grass on most of the tee boxes. They are bumpy and bare. 2 of the Par 3's including the pics I took and attached were so un-hit-able that I just walked around until I found some spare grass to hit off of. In the attached pic you can see the tee box has absolutely ZERO grass. Its just dirt and some overgrown clovers. I hate coming on here to complain, but I say this for anyone like me who looks forward all week to escaping life's stresses on a golf course. If I could have my money, and beautiful sunny Sunday morning back I would. Go anywhere but here.
Very friendly staff and course wes in decent shape even though it had rained earlier in the day.
I will most likelly play this course again I liked the layout and the staff was very friendly
Nice staff and people
I have played here several times and enjoyed it each time. I would recommend it to my friends. If I lived closer I would join.
Let the search begin
After selling one of the holes on the course to developers, the owners have struggled to rearrange the course in a manner in which you can easily navigate 18 holes. An improvement in signage directing you to the next tee box would greatly help. The course features way too many blind holes where you have no idea where the green is located. Scorecards with pictures of the layout would help. That being said, it is a good round for the money and the staff is doing their best to improve the layout.
Mr. Smith,
We greatly appreciate your feedback and we apologize for the confusion you had on the golf course during our renovation process.
We have received the new hole marker signs and they were installed last week. We still have not added directional signage but they are being produced.
We do have an up to date course layout on the back of our temp scorecards that we are using during the transition period.
We appreciate you coming out to give us a try and we encourage you to come back when we open the new greens in April.
Thank you again for your feedback!

Great time. Waterfall lakes tall oaks
Had a great time. Beautiful course tall oaks waterfall lakes and beautiful greens
NEXT YEAR
NOT FAIR TO JUDGE NOW WHILE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. VERY BAD CONDITION. WILL WAIT TILL SPRING TO PLAY AGAIN
Dear Guest,
We understand that renovations can cause confusion during the grow in phase while playing a couple temp greens. We hope that you will come back later this spring when our dormant fairways start growing again and our two new greens are opened up. We still have more changes planned for late summer this year and we appreciate everyone's feedback during our course upgrades.
General Manager
Bad time to play there.
Course is under major renovations. Will have to see how it is when it's done.

We thank you for your review and hope that you will give us another chance to earn your return business. We continue to renovate and upgrade the course with special emphasis on our tee boxes. All of our holes have been open since the beginning of May and we have opened 6 renovated tee boxes so far this year. We hope you will come back again and see the changes that we have made.
