The Legends at Orange Lake Resort
About
Orange Lake Resort & Country Club in Kissimmee boasts four different golf courses, two championship courses and two nine-hole layouts. Undoubtedly, the most popular course is the Legends. This Arnold Palmer-designed layout is like getting two courses in one. The front nine is a traditional links that is wide-open and windy, which makes club selection particularly challenging. It is a good warm-up for the even more demanding back nine. On the backside, you will be playing through mature oaks and towering pine trees that border the lush, winding fairways. It is quite a feat to successfully maneuver your tee shots through the narrow openings of the trees, which gives it the feel of a course in North Carolina. The signature hole is the 13th. This daunting hole features a large green that is shielded by a rock wall, surrounded by tall grass, and protected in back by a sand trap.

Enjoyed the course. Both carts went out of power.
We enjoyed the course. Fairway conditions is not as good as winter 2013. One of our electric power carts completely stopped after the first hole and GSP never started up. The replacement power cart came out in reasonable time, but it was a diesel cart, with terrible exhaust fumes and no GSP on it at all. Then our second power cart started to die in the back nine, could not go up the hilly rough, which slowed down the pace of play.
The GPS system is very smart, it is touch screen to show exact distance. But make sure you have it working right at the tee box of hole #1. On one cart, the GSP did not work at the tee box. The starter said give it a few more minutes. Not true, it was still light out after we finished hole #1, then the power cart completely stop dead.
While we anticipated a grand experience remembering our 2 superb rounds in winter of 2013, this time, the experience was a bit disappointing.
Amazing Course
Beautiful course with natural vegatation as it winds through the Orange Lake Resort. Water and waste bunkers strateically placed on most holes, some not visable from tee box. Greens in good shape with most protected by large bunkers.
Would highly recommend if you are vacationing in the area.
Great value and excellent course, well worth a return trip
Great value and excellent course, and looking forward to a return trip.
Good value for the money
Good course, easy course. Not challenging, but good to have a nice round and leave feeling good.
accurate shot control is important.
strike the ball properly and control and you will score well here.
Rushed
Actually felt rushed even at a 4:20 round. The course was well maintained and well laid out. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend playing here!
This course is great for all handicaps of golfers.
I enjoyed the course. Excellent condition. Greens were consistent and fair. Always have played this course every year for 13 years to Florida.
Pretty course
Very pretty course. The day I played it the weather conditions were only fair and the greens had been recently sanded. Despite that, it is evident that this is a quality golf course with a number of very pretty holes. Not too long but still challenging - especially the back nine where water comes into play on 6 of 9 holes. friendly staff and bar. Recommended.
Disappointed
As an owner at Orangelakei play this course many times a year. Was annoyed not to be told, even by the starter, that the greens had been sanded and in such a way that when putting from any distance your ball left a 'rooster tail' of sand!! Compared to nearby courses the lunch deal is poor value.
Orange Lake
Pace of play was horrible, no rangers on the course to speed things up at all. Waited on every shot. Horrible except for the great weather. Greens was very slow and not cut.
Great course!
Course in excellent condition, from tees thru greens, even after heavy rains prior to the day we played.
Orange Lake is Resort-style course ..........
...........with resort-style pricing, so I thank GolfNow for the Hot Deals Special. The Legends course is well conditioned, but I miss the time when it had no buildings surrounding many of the holes. It was cut & contoured out of natural Florida wilderness. The par3's are picturesque. We got rained-on twice this afternoon, and quit after 9; but the ProShop was very accommodating & offered a Rain Check. The staff ---golf shop & grill -- are very friendly & nice.
Worth the day
The course was a very good challenge... Lots of sand, Found the back nine of crooked more challenging than the front..
They were reseeding at the time so cart path only.. They were some nice scenic holes and enjoyed not being clse to busy roads... Would definately play this track again
Holiday round
Course conditions were as always excellent.
Busy weekend during Thanksgiving lunch time start so no expectation of fast golf. I played as a single following a series of 4 balls, played through 3, At the turn spoke to staff and played the front 9 again as it was free now, Thanks Staff.
Good course - best of Orange Resort
Golf course is one of several onsite and their flagship. Location is deep within the property. Allow adequate time to get there with internal speeds limited to 23mph. Entrance to golf shop takes at least 10 minutes. Course is very good condition compared to others in the area but walking is not an option. Many holes require substantial cart transit for green to next tee.
Always a pleasure playing AP courses!
We love AP layouts - very balanced, many nice views and pretty charming! Not too difficult, but some holes are challanging...
They have stuttering fuel-driven carts without GPS, so ask for an electric car with GPS. Our GPS did not work (car # 3) and I had to call the ranger twice. On hole 9 he could not fix the GPS, so we got a yardage book...
The course was in pretty good shape, overseeding completed - so enjoy the round.
It's the little things
The course is always nice but the divot filler on the cart was empty and when I presented my coupon for lunch and a free beer I was told we don't give free beer anymore. Then don't advertise it.
Slow Round
Course was OK but it took over five hours...had to wait on every tee and no Marshall in sight.
