The Legends at Orange Lake Resort
About
Orange Lake Resort & Country Club in Kissimmee boasts four different golf courses, two championship courses and two nine-hole layouts. Undoubtedly, the most popular course is the Legends. This Arnold Palmer-designed layout is like getting two courses in one. The front nine is a traditional links that is wide-open and windy, which makes club selection particularly challenging. It is a good warm-up for the even more demanding back nine. On the backside, you will be playing through mature oaks and towering pine trees that border the lush, winding fairways. It is quite a feat to successfully maneuver your tee shots through the narrow openings of the trees, which gives it the feel of a course in North Carolina. The signature hole is the 13th. This daunting hole features a large green that is shielded by a rock wall, surrounded by tall grass, and protected in back by a sand trap.

Good test of golf
The curse was in good shape. Bunker sand was not very consistent, but overall a good test of golf. Greens were fast but ran true. Actually played it twice during the week. Played it forward the second time (white tees) and made it more enjoyable.
Very Enjoyable Golf! .. . however
Beautiful golf course, with varied challenges. Layout doesn't favor to the left or right, ...very balanced. Play 'smart' & choose when to challenge the greens & you'll have a fun day. On the down side, ... not enough carts to handle the business. Had to lug bag/clubs to driving range for warm up. "Cart Service" showed up 3 times over the front 9 holes, ... not even once on the back 9. Back 9 played very slow, seemingly from delays at club houses abilty to keep groups on the move between 9th & 10th hole. (took 9 minutes to get a beverage & chips) Having kept pace all through the front 9, had several backups along the back... & had to dodge "incoming" shots from group behind us.
Nice Resort Course
Classic resort course, from my perspective. Facilities and staff were friendly and helpful. Fairways and green in good shape. More water than I was expecting for a resort course. Some challenging holes. We played on a real windy day (2-3 club wind) so made it a little more challenging to play.
Great Course to Play
Excellent conditions! Golfer friendly. Excellent caddy assistance. Quite surroundings. A little difficult to find.
Arnold Palmer Course Always a Charm
A very well maintained course with an entertaining layout. The only negative is the slow play. Have played this course many times, and it is not unusual to have a 5-hour round. A good value for the money.
Great Course
Great course, always in great condition. 5 sets of tees to play from according to your ability. Well run resort course, quite pricey, but a great deal from golfnow.com if you can get it!!! We are 2 women playing and course is lady friendly from forward tee, not too long or too short. Lots of sand traps and waste bunkers to drive in. A few holes with water carries but bail out areas are there too.
High expectations
This is my third year laying this course whilst on vacation and this year the fee for playing remains high the service level for the cost has declined. Gps is advertised but not provided and many yardage markers are missing on the course causing a lot of frustration.
I have always gladly recommended the legends course but sadly not this year. This will be my only game this year at Orange lake 5 hours 20 minutes is to long for a round of golf as well
Vice nice course and great staff
Course was fun to play and challenging. The staff was fantastic from when we arrived and throughout the day. Being our first time they made sure we had everything we needed. Was a great day and look forward to playing again soon.
Great suprise
Delightful round in chilly cloudy weather on a course with impeccable maintenance and enough challenges. We'll be back
Good Course....No GPS
The only thing that I was annoyed at was the golf now website said there was GPS in the cart but there was not. Otherwise a good experience.
Nice course
This is a great course and
fun to play and I will be back.
Course was in excellent condition.
Always an enjoyable Course
Played this course a number of times, is always challenging, in great shape and no exception this time. Was paired with a threesome who played captains choice which greatly helped our pace of play but could not be said of the foursome ahead of us but is typical of a resort course. Overall an enjoyable golfing day especially with the great weather and company.
Course in great shape
Course is great. The only negative is that they do not have gps on all carts, even if it's listed as a feature in golf now.
Orangr Lake
The only minor down fall are the greens, a little shaggy.
Golf
Course in great shape. Pace of play on front nine was great. Back nine we waited on every shot
On this course was great views and nature
We liked very much about nature of this course and challenging play on the very good shaped course.
càution crossing busy streets
Course winds its way through residential & resort properties crossing many streets. Motorist often didn't stop so pay attention. Course itself had nothing memorable - good or bad. Reasonably wide fairways. Back 9 a little tighter w/more hazards than front. Overall course condition was good including greens which ran at moderate pace. A good value at $50 or less.
Legen wait for it DARY
Sorry for the chessy tittle: You will NOT be disappointed with this course. It's well groomed and the teal tees are long enough to challenge any golfer. There's just enough water to play in the minds of the timid golfer, but don't bail out though as putts run true and an be holed from any distance. Besides the 5 extra minutes of driving through the resort to get there I wouldn't change much. GolfNow has deals at 39 bucks or better sometimes and it plays and looks just as nice as some of $100+ Orlando courses.
Great
Fair but challenging. Great condition. Will play again.
Resort Classic
- challenging course that needs some strategic ball positioning.
- greens were slow but well maintained.
- no crazy pin placements.
- bring your A-game to play from blue or farther-back tees.
