Hibiscus Golf Club

Thought I would give this track another try after the rework that was done recently. Saw some cosmetic changes… nice new bridges over water hazards, a few new bunkers, and some new teeing areas. However, greens were still like putting on velcro and it’s only a matter of time before the course gets beat up into submission and you end up playing on green dirt again. Still a disappointment to play, as could be good with proper care and attention to conditions.

This course recently went through a refurbishment for lack of a better term. It will be great next year, but I feel like they opened too early. In some places, sod is not established, and the greens need more work, they were quite bumpy.

I booked a foursome for Christmas and 2 of the four couldn’t make it. I informed them only 2 of us were there they said nothing and paired us up with other people and then I checked my credit card and I was charged for the other 2 people even though they weren’t there! No one even said anything to me! Stay away from this place! I have been playing golf for 30 plus years and this has never happened!!!!!

Although we had fun, I would have preferred not to be paired with people I don’t know. I was looking forward to a quiet round with my wife on the bag.

The course has been closed for about 8 months. They did a nice remodel. The fairways and greens were in great condition. Kudos to the maintenance staff.

Played here while on vacation. Compared to other course green fees, this was a bargain. The fairways weren't the best but good enough. The greens were slow and bumpy. The best part was it was not crowded so pace of play was great. Playing again in a couple of days before leaving.

The course was closed for the summer for updates so I was looking forward to what what done.

The pro shop is really nice and has a nice selection of apparel and golf equipment along with a excellent staff. The restaurant & bar is really nice and we had a great lunch & cold draft beer after our round.

The practice range is set up right next to the starter shack and and has a vending machine for range balls.,and a good size putting green so you can warm up & the starter will let you know when you are on deck. All the staff here is friendly and knowledgable and very professional.

The tee boxes were in good shape, we played from the whites @ about 6100 yards. Greens were slow compared to what I am use to and I had a hard time getting the ball to the hole.A few of the greens had just been top dressed so I think they will be getting quicker in the next few weeks. I was expecting the fairways to be in better condition as they were ok and playable but not in the condition I was expecting from only being open a few weeks. Hole #10 no longer has the creek cutting across the fairway and maybe that was done to speed up play but I did not see this as an improvement I liked it better with the creek. #11 is now a par 4 which I thought it always should be and the course is now a par 71.All the bridges and cart paths got upgrades and the new GPS units in the carts are super! Pace of play was excellent. Overall it was an enjoyable round and I look forward to playing here again.
