Ocala National at Golden Hills Country Club

Greens were hard but not fast. Fairways were not cut short so no runout on your drives. Rough is a mixture of several varieties of grass, crab, bermuda, tall fescue, tall crabgrass, weeds. YOU COULD NOT FIND YOUR BALL IN THE ROUGH. AHEAD AND BEHIND US FOLKES WERE DOING DONUTS FOR 5 MINUTES PER HOLE. SLOWED UP PLAY A LOT. Bunkers were hard mostly, but the rough around the bunkers was like the horrible rough. Ridiculous conditions all over the place. Complained and got the SHORT STAFFING, BROKEN MOWER, NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE TO MANAGE COURSE answers. Whatever. Not worth even the low price we paid.

Carts were absolutely filth, fairways were poorly managed, rough looked liked someone’s uncut lawn, bunkers were literally dirt ponds and overgrown.

Pace was excruciatingly slow and absolutely no atmosphere or pride in this course.

I honestly wish I could get my money back. Would never spend it here again until I hear there is better management.

This course has a 4.5 star on golf now and doesn’t deserve a 2 star! This once beautiful course has fell into abandonment. Nothing but the greens had been cut in at least two weeks so we lost a LOT of balls just feet off the fairways. We paid $43 for 18 with cart and I wouldn’t play there again even if it were free. Very unfortunate!!

Fairway and green conditions were on par for the price but good luck finding any ball that’s not on the green or in the fairway the rough looked like it hasn’t been cut in over a month. In some parts of the course the rough was up to my knees and Weeds were over growing 2/3 of the bunkers. I recommend bringing cheap balls unless you’re tiger or don’t mind going through a box of Pro v’s.

This is one of the worst courses I’ve ever played especially for the cost. I would not be willing to pay half of what I payed to play. We lost most of our balls within feet of the fairways. This place is a rolling cow pasture with greens. Very disappointed!!

The course is in terrible condition. The greens are decent but that is the.only thing in decent shape.

Fun day out on the course, mostly great conditions but recent rain made bunkers hard and some with standing water. Course needed mowed, again lots of rain recently contributed but off fairway was very shaggy just a good day of mowing, cleaning and fixing bunkers would bring back to great. Likewise, greens were slow due to mowing and wet weather. A fun course that plays well.

The greens and fairways were in good condition. The rough was overgrown to the point that it was difficult to find your ball just off the fairway and the bunkers were not in good shape. I enjoyed the layout and will return.

They are a little behind tending the fairways but was a delight to play!

Due to 99 degree weather there was not a crowd!! We enjoyed that!!

Restaurant and bar wasn’t open, not sure if it was because there were not a lot of people playing golf during the heat?

We will play there again!!

Played 18 holes! The staff was very helpful and friendly!

They are having staffing problems but trying hard to get the course in better condition. But we plan to play more there and get group of friends to join us playing there!!

I hadn’t played Ocala National in over 9 months. Previous rounds were sometimes slow but course conditions always good to excellent.

This time rough so high and covered with previously mowed hay that while looking for your ball you could find many other lost balls. Fairways were rough and needed mowing. Greens were bumpy and slow. We quit after nine holes.
