Bloomingdale Golfers Club
About
Bloomingdale Golfers Club sits on 220 acres of natural terrain with 100-year-old oaks, natural marsh preserves teeming with wildlife, fields of flowers, and thirteen lakes. Here you'll find a true Golfers Club -- no pools, no tennis courts, just Florida Golf at its finest. Tree lined fairways, pampas grass, massive waste areas, deep grass bunkers and contoured greens tempt golfers to play a round. Golf Digest described Bloomingdale Golfers Club as having the best collection of par 5's on one golf course as they have seen. Bloomingdale, which has been ranked #9 in Florida by Golfweek Magazine, is dedicated to preserving the natural appeal of the land. Course residents include a bald eagle, several sandhill cranes, sixty species of semi-rare birds, and the ever-present raccoon...the course trademark.

Waste of money
I have played Bloomingdale in the past but it’s been over a year or two I will never be back. I purchased a small bucket of range balls and the round of golf and it cost me $49. Out of the 18 holes there was probably only two tee boxes that were not completely torn up. They are in the process of cutting all the sod out of the tee boxes out with a box blade tractor and it was all dirt. The greens were not in bad shape at all however the fairways look like they had aerated. The areas not punched were dead the grass was burnt. Course was an absolutely horrible condition and I will never go back it was a complete waste of time and money. I do not recommend this course at all and if you play I’m sure you’ll be as disappointed as I was today. I went back in the clubhouse to ask them about the conditions and they told me there was a sign posted outside. Nothing on their website to notify you of course conditions. He had poor attitude as well
Temporarily rough shape
Maintenance in progress. Fairways aerated, several tee boxes torn up, apparently about to be re-sodded. Several temporary tees. Greens are in fine shape.
Tee boxes
The tee boxes were Burnt to dirt and fairways are weed beds.
The greens were cross thatch cut and difficult to putt.
Other than that it was all good. The course has some well designed holes and I look forward to going back when the greens have a normal green cut they are done with what ever is going on with the Tee boxes.
Tee bxes
The tee boxes were dead and burnt brown dirt for most boxes. This appeared to be maintenance strategy so better days are likely ahead. The greens had a cross cut thatching thing and the fairways are average at best. I expect the greens are normally better then what we played today. The fairways are very likely what I say today everyday and that was not super but playable.
With that said the course has a great design. The holes had great visuals with risk reward options. I want to come back when the grass grows on the tee boxes and greens heal over.
Time management
The course is in fair shape, lot of dirt at tee boxes and fairways grass is very tight , I can live with both . There are a lot of golfers out there and tee times are bunched up, waiting 5 to 10 minutes on most shots is on time management , be a while before I go back
Improving conditions
Course is in fairly good shape after recent rains. A few fairways have some bare spots, greens are in good shape. Tee boxes are rough, but they are preparing to redo several with new turf.
Power outage caused problems and there was no starter
Totally undeserving of so-called #1rating
Good layout, slow greens, fairway condition poor and no control on pace of play. On several holes we had 3 groups waiting on tee! Pass up this one.
slow ride
Play was slow . Cart ran out of juice at hole 12. course was nice
Par 5 Challenges Very Nice
Very nice golf course, specifically the Par 5 Holes. Played them in -1 Today. The greens are in 8 out of 10 shape, I would prefer them a little faster but they were fair. #4 510 Yard Par 5 is a double dogleg hole, hit a great drive to the center of the fairway over the first set of trees, had 221 to the center of the green, which is within my reach (3 Hybrid) however a blind shot over that second set of trees, so I choose to lay up to 78 yards, wedge in with a birdie putt, slid by on the high side made the comeback putt for par. This course is a keeper, not sure why I have not play it before now. They are doing a great job at this course, very nice practice facility as well. Keep Up the good work. Exponentially better than the last course I reviewed in Riverview, Florida. Bloomingdale will get more of my Golf Dollars. Oh did I mention they will let you walk, huge plus :). Make it a great day!
Overbooked
They sold us a tee time 20 min after a shotgun scramble started. Bailed after 9 holes
Challenging course
Nice challenging track and if it weren’t for my back issues, I’m sure it would’ve been more enjoyable.
Fairways and greens and tee boxes not in very good shape
Very little grass now
Played Bloomingdale GC earlier during our winter Florida stay & was happy to see the grass in the fairways & approach areas was much better than last year. Unfortunately, things have gone downhill quickly. The course layout is fun and challenging, but hitting off very sparse fairways is challenging and NOT fun. Where your ball will ultimately come to rest is a mystery even after a good shot. Probably won't be returning to BGC again this year. If you're OK with playing extremely tight lies, you may enjoy BGC since the layout is fun & the price is right.
Tough course on windy days
Course is enjoyable to play and very challenging with lots of water and doglegs to make you think about the next shot. It was a little wet after rains the previous day but still in good shape.
No starters or marshals
Would not play here again if it was free. The play was so slow it took 3 hours to complete the first 9. Stopped at pro shop ....there was three people working the clubhouse....and spoke to the pro. Told him we were leaving because play is just too slow. He mentioned that no starter showed up......guess he or no one else working the clubhouse could go move play along. He did offer to give me a raincheck for 9 holes but retracted that offer when he found out I booked thru golf now.
Had not played the course recently
Kudos to grounds crew. Much improved areas around the greens and hazards.Course requires accuracy, ,the improvements sped up play and helped improve enjoyment of the course.
Ranger
I did not like the ranger come and tell us to hurry up to play because the club members are behind us and we are holding them up and We paid $60 to play there.
Fun course
On my first time playing Bloomingdale this winter, I found the course conditions to be improved over prior years. Though it doesn't have the lush fairways of the high-dollar courses, the fairways are a step above the hardpan I've seen on other courses in BGC's price range. The greens are firm but roll true. The layout is fun and definitely challenging, which accounts for the slow play I've invariably encountered at Bloomingdale. If you're new to golf, you may want to take notice of not just BGC's length (almost 5400 yards from the forward tees) but also the course slope and rating (72.6/130 from the forward tees ). Unless you're prepared to pick up to keep pace, Bloomingdale is NOT the place to learn - other than their practice facilities. It's just too tough for beginners & not only spoils the pace of play but has to be frustrating for the beginner or high handicapper - as it is for those watching & WAITING from behind you. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The pro shop is nice as well.
