The 18-hole Gulf Shores Golf Club (formerly known as Golf Club of The Wharf) in Gulf Shores, Alabama is a public golf course that opened in 1963. Challenging
Great course. NOT EASY.
Pace of play was excellent
Overall condition of course was very good
Greens are FAST, especially if you are above the hole!
Was over all a great day with slight exception
I have to say I absolutely love Gulf shores golf club, the only blemish on the day was the drunken 5 some that refused to let the single play through. But all in all the day was great. Maybe some afternoon marshaling would help? Course looks great, greens are smooth and fast. Can't wait to get back!

Needs improvement
Played immediately after a torrential downpour when most people were getting rain checks and leaving. However we were allowed to get off the cart path and drive to our golf ball because the course had drained fairly well. The tee boxes were a little sparse with grass and some of the greens had areas around the edges that were very sparse, bunkers were wet but playable and fairways were good. Played through a group on hole eight and the players I was paired with left after nine holes, so we played the last nine with virtually no one on that side in a little over an hour. Was a little disappointed with the overall course condition, but always enjoy playing Gulf Shores when vacationing in the area.
Good course but very slow pace of play
The course was in good shape with a good layout. The only problem we had was that play was backed up from the start with too many groups and/or no one from the club or marshal to move things along.
Extremely hot day
Heat index 112, empty water jugs on front nine. Saw cart girl only on hole 2. Water fountain not working at restroom. Course conditions very dry everywhere. Would never pay full price.
