The 18-hole Gulf Shores Golf Club (formerly known as Golf Club of The Wharf) in Gulf Shores, Alabama is a public golf course that opened in 1963. Great challenging course !! The course was in great shape and very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Great Vacation Course
If you are staying in the Fort Morgan area this is a pretty good course. It’s no Kiva Dunes but for the money you get what you pay for. A really fun course that can be enjoyed by golfers of all skill levels. GSGC has lots of hazards that can really make you think about your shots. Very fair prices for food and drink in the clubhouse. Overall a pretty good course that I would recommend to a friend.
Great layout
Greens were a good speed but very bumpy with crab grass. Looked to have been punched recently but maybe we’re not top dressed or rain washed it away.
Enjoyable Round
First time playing here. Had my brother in law and father in law with me. They play VERY little. It was a good course to challenge the low handicap, but very playable for the high handicap. Greens had some crabgrass in them, but were surprisingly fast! I really enjoyed it!
“Non-resort” Gem!
With all the “resort” courses in and around Gulf Shores GSGC is an old classic course that is a great alternative. Nice layout that is a challenge and fun to play. Everyone in the clubhouse is friendly. Not a lot of frills, just good golf. Green fee is a little steep but what the market bears during the summer in GS.
Course staff
It was 105 degree heat index and none of the water coolers across the entire course from 8am - 1pm contained any water. After briefing staff initially, we expected it would be addressed by the back 9.
Course Marshall’s were also very rude. We went in after 9 and were heckled for how long we took (20 minutes) and ruining the course of play.

I really enjoyed this course. Honestly, the only thing which would have made my experience better, would be a Mikitary Discounted Rate! Challenging, yet playable layout! Very friendly and well maintained!!

Oldie and a goodie
GSGC has been around a long time and has a great layout. Always enjoy this course and it’s traditional feel.
Enjoyable course
Fairways and greens were in great shape. Pace was slow thru front nine but got better on the back.
Gulf Shores visit
We enjoyed our round. I really don't have any complaints. I would play here again when I return to the area.
Beautiful Course & Great Value
It has been a few years since I have been golfing, but I am glad I restarted playing here! Beautiful course with well-kept putting greens. The equipment & facilities are great. The staff is super friendly and helpful too!! I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a fun 4 hours in paradise!
