The 18-hole Gulf Shores Golf Club (formerly known as Golf Club of The Wharf) in Gulf Shores, Alabama is a public golf course that opened in 1963. Designed by Earl Stone, the previously named Gulf Shores Golf Club went in 2005 through a renovation that lengthened the course by 300 yards. Good course with bad weed problem

One of my favorite courses but has a serous crabgrass problem. Seems to get worse every year. It's a shame.

Overall, the course was in good shape and was fun to play. The biggest issue was we had a foursome in front of us who were apparently playing a two man scramble and we had to wait at least 10 minutes on each tee due to slow play. There was no offer to let us play through and there was no ranger on the course to address the issue. Fortunately, we were able to get ahead of them at the turn which made for a much more enjoyable second 9.

Good Course fun time

GSGC in a nice golf course with the most challenging holes (for me) in the back nine. It’s relatively flat with minimal downhill or side hill lies. I am a high handicap golfer and do not hit it long especially at sea level. On a few holes the lengths and wind directions affect the score. On another note, this course is fine paying $35 to $55 / round; anything more than that, it’s just not worth it.
