Golfer Reviews
Extremely Overpriced. Not the best condition. Aerated Greens
Course fees are $100, which by the layout, and condition is ridiculous and extremely overpriced. This course is worth maybe $40 for 18. The greens were aerated, and patchy grass patches with weeds on greens. The tee boxes were in absolutely horrible condition, and clearly not taken care of. They were full of sand and barely any grass. The grass was dead around most of the greens. Fairways were dry and grass was dead. The whole time we were there we had a worker on his tractor cutting the grass on the entire back 9 in the afternoon who didn’t stop for us to take shots. Very inconsiderate. They booked us on the same day of a tournament and the starter rushed us off the course after we were told we could continue to play even though there was a 4 some in front of us who was about 30 minutes behind pace of play. So we did not even get to finish our round of golf. Very annoying, and just overall bad service from a golf course. I’m sure the tournament players were happy people had played before them on a course. I will not be returning even if they lowered there rates.
Great course. Needs work
One of my favorite courses but conditions going downhill. Lots of Poa annui in greens and grass growing in bunkers.
Overall pretty good
Greens rolled true despite being recently punched. There were quite a few weeds on the greens but it didn’t change much. They were pretty good despite. Fairways were really good. Got stuck behind some very slow players. Took more than an hour to play last three holes.
Average course
This is an average course, nothing special about the course itself. Astaff we encountered were very nice. Would play this course again if we could get hot deals more frequently...but certainly wouldn't pay their "full price", it's not worth it. But again, hot deal price was worth it.
Friendly staff
The course was in best shape to be expected due to lack of rain, greens had just been punched that I was aware of before booking the tee time and I’m sure once they heal and are cut and rolled they will be good. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Gulf Shores Golf Club
I enjoy this course. It is challenging and fun. However, this time the greens had a lot of broadleaf weeds. The green speeds were good, but it was hard to keep putt on line with the weeds.
Good layout. Challenging but forgiving as well!
Super friendly staff and course was in great condition overall. The greens had some invasive grass but we’re still nice.
Enjoyable round
Nice course but greens need purging of some invasive grass. Cart girl and girl at the turn turn were extremely friendly. Food at the turn was very delicious.
Unfriendly staff
We played Monday 7/24/23 staff very friendly starter very friendly and accommodating. We ate lunch in the bar and spent about forty dollars on drinks and food. We canceled a round we had with another course and played there again on Thursday the 27th. Different person at the check in desk and different starter, both had the attitude that we were 2nd class citizens because we used golf now. My wife and I play together and we prefer not to be paired up. Monday was busy but the starter had no problem with our request, the Thursday guy was a real but and then he brought up golf now. I will never understand why a course chooses to use a service like Golfnow and then penalizes its customers for taking advantage of that service. We are coming back to gulf shores in August but I will probably play a different course just because of the way we were treated and that’s a shame because I totally love the golf course.
Dun
Fun to play but some greens and tee boxes need work.
Fun course. Love the layout
Staff super friendly
Free range balls
Tee boxes were very thin on most holes
Fairways and rough were in pretty good condition but not pristine
Greens were very smooth and consistent, medium fast.
Good a good hot deal rate, otherwise would have felt slightly overpriced
Challenging but rewarding!
Awesome course, made ttime on line with ease. On e there staff very friendly and professional especially the starter.
Sunday quick round
My son and I had 7:50 tee times last week. We got there by 7:00, hit some on the range and noticed that no one had gone off in a good while. We went to the starter at 7:30 and he said we could go ahead. Played through two on home five and never got held up. Played 18 in under three hours.
Course is fair. It was hot, not much rain lately and it showed. Rough was high due to lack of rain but we stayed in fairways so wasn’t much of an issue.
Not worth $100 to me but the time with my son made up for the cost. Our second time to play here. I had played it twenty years ago and not much has changed.
Breakfast probably the best thing about the day. The snack bar had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich that was delicious.
