The 18-hole Gulf Shores Golf Club (formerly known as Golf Club of The Wharf) in Gulf Shores, Alabama is a public golf course that opened in 1963. Tops in friendly service
Course staff is always friendly and accommodating.
Greens rolled true. Speed was moderately fast.
Snack shop service and food were great.
Will play again when I am in area.
Pricey for the quality
It would be a very good course for $50 not the $100 we paid.
Fun time at Gulf Shores Golf Club
3:40 minutes for three of us to complete 18
Several tee boxes need an overhaul-The rest of the course is in excellent shape.
All employees(Check-in, starter, Marshell, & maintenance) were very nice
Nice course, well worth the money paid. Cart girl also came by often during our round. Free range balls is a plus.
Holiday Golf
Overall was fun to play. For a holiday afternoon the course was surprisingly pretty empty which allowed us to play at our own pace, two-some, and finished in 3 1/2 hours
Conditions were okay. Greens had been aerated a couple weeks ago and were still bumpy. They need another top dressing and drag to smooth them out.
Bunkers need to be worked over and have some sand added in places. There were a few bunkers that needed to have the grass around them cut, hole #10 in particular.
Enjoyed our round and will play again. Baldwin County resident.
Good lay out.
Course was in good shape especially the fairways. Greens was a little spotty. Held ball good on iron shots
Tad overpriced
Course was in ok condition. For the price was not worth it.
Where’s the groundskeeper?
I have golfed this course many times and consider it my favorite in Gulf Shores. That said, while the fairways were in good shape and the greens had been aerated, the landscaping was horrendous. I always remember this course being beautifully manicured. This time there were weeds growing everywhere in the landscaping, around the restrooms, and even up the side of the clubhouse. While none of this affected our play, it was disappointing to see the course going in the wrong direction. Hopefully this was just bad timing and it will be improved next time I play.
Good
Wish there was more of a discount for the bad greens caused by air-rating. Overall though the course was great.
