The 18-hole Gulf Shores Golf Club (formerly known as Golf Club of The Wharf) in Gulf Shores, Alabama is a public golf course that opened in 1963. the course was in great shape except the greens had just been punched

Friendly staff… very engaging
Course was good even with the greens being worked on.
Fun to play for a very novice player
Guy in the pro shop was about as friendly as a cactus. Other than that great time.
Nice and challenging course
While vacationing in the area I chose to play here. This was my first time playing this course and I was very pleased with the overall experience. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Nice and challenging course with fast, variable sloping greens. Like someone else mentioned a few reviews before this one - a few of the greens had some minor imperfections but not enough to affect play or lower my rating of the course.
Free, unlimited balls at driving range is a plus.

Beautiful and tough course.
Course was in great shape. Had a few small bald spots on a couple of the greens and some crab grass spots in the fringe of the green on some holes that need to be addressed. This is my favorite course in and around Gulf Shores for the money.
Great course layout, just needs maintenance.
Great course layout, challenging and rewarding if you go for it. Just the cartpath, tee box and greens all need maintenance. A little bit of work and this could be an excellent course. Staff does not seem very knowledgeable about course management and maintenance.
Great Staff
Staff was very friendly! Course was fun and played great. We played right after the rain and the greens still played quick.
Overall very enjoyable and will be back.

Great Course
This was a great course with very friendly staff. It was my first time playing and I was linked up with 3 strangers. Turned out to be a great experience. Course is very fair with a few challenges to keep you entertained. Greens and tee boxes were in decent shape as well. I will definitely be playing again!
Was great the second time
Despite cart path only, I thoroughly enjoyed this course. I played it before and it offered a good challenge then. Keeping it in play is key as there are a few tight holes. Plenty of birdie holes mixed with a few tough ones. Greens were pretty good. Staff was friendly as always.
Nice Course
Nice Course, but fairways and greens were a bit wet, given the extreme temps right now its understandable. Harry Welker helped us get started and provided excellent tips and overall great conversation, Keep him around.
