The stunning fourth. Tricky, strategic and exhilarating. Yet fatal on the left side. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eight. Bold 3-par of 204. You’ll need a fine tee shot to keep the wolf at the door. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eleven. Solid tee-to-green test. Hitting and putting this green are the keys. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Thirteen: Wedging into a green pared down to essentials: a frontal bunker, a narrowing surface, then a big backside falloff. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Best course in Lancaster County
Always in great condition. I’ve played many courses in all of Lancaster and York county’s but pilgrims is by far the best around.
Hills and slopes galore.
Beautiful hilly southeastern Pennsylvania is put on full display at Pilgrims Oak. Some tee shots are downhill and some tee shots are uphill and there are very few flat lies. Still the course is playable and very enjoyable. Just don’t try to walk it if your over 60.
Nice Rolling Course
Nice condition for early season. Multi level greens were hard and tough to hold on approach. Significant elevation changes for an open course. Interesting layout. Worth the drive.
Scenic and lots of elevation changes
Course is located in a quiet and isolated location. Staff was very nice. Grass was in solid condition for this time of year. Tee boxes were under construction and were a bit rough but overall pleasant experience. Greens are tough and crowned. Will definitely be back again.
Great Course Layout
Friendly staff. Challenging course with 18 unique holes. Very wet and windy, but still a lot of fun.
One of Lancaster County's Best Public Courses
This course has a great layout and great scenery. It's challenging and fun without being gimmicky. This course is a little bit off the beaten path but more than worth the few extra miles. You definitely won't be disappointed.
Love this course
One of the best around. Beautiful area. Friendly staff. Course is always in great condition. Challenging but fair.
The greens are crazy fast and some pin placements insane
Well readying the course for this weekends event sure caused some issues to my score. Wind was not as bad as yesterday and I shot par on 17 and 18.which keeps me coming back.
I need to play some holes without the driver to score better. The aeration of fairways and around some greens made some chips and pitches very difficult as it was torn up fairly well.
The pin placements on several holes like 16 today was ludicrous. Still, this course is beautiful and I randomly paired up with someone today that made it more fun.
I cannot wait to play a scramble here!
Might be the last time this year there for me due to weather and excited to see how spring plays at this course as long as it is not too wet.
When the greens are not rolling at a 10-12, I think that 8-9 is good for a fair challenge.
Updates impressions
I played here for the first time around Columbus Day under far better weather conditions with the course playing softer and it was much more receptive. Now the wind and weather have changed as of today and it has dried out, hardened and the greens are like granite! They are so hard and fast - having been cut very tight. Being below the hole is a must except where false fronts exist. They are readying for a very challenging tournament this weekend (a lot like a superindent’s/greenskeeper’s revenge event). The wind was brutal today and steady in speed between 15-20 mph. For mid to high handicappers like me, the course conditions had real sharp teeth today. The speed of the greens if you are above the hole and putting or chipping downhill, it is often impossible to stop the ball even on decent to good shots and you see too many rolling off. I am expecting more of the same tomorrow when I go back for more punishment. Seeing the other side of the course under these conditions make it less fair/appealing (especially to players that normally shoot in the mid 80s and higher) so it lost ground compared to my first time there and compared to my favorite course in the region, Royal Manchester.
I love how the locals and other patrons keep the greens nearly pristine in condition and do much better than most courses in taking care of the tee surfaces and fairways in fixing divots and ball marks. The grounds crew on this course does an amazing job overall! Fairways were aerated recently. It is a gorgeous course visually! I want to play a scramble here in the worst way.
Always a Favorite
Always a favorite, Pilgrim's Oak was in excellent shape with lush fairways, and quick and smooth greens. The bunkers held some water, but understandable with the overnight rains. The tee boxes were also a little chewed up, but it wasn't distracting. This is a challenging course with lots of elevation change, mounding, narrow fairways, and questionable bounces. It played a tad longer today, maybe because of the damp and heavy air. We played in a little over 3 hours...on a Saturday, that's unheard of. This course is definitely worth the drive from the Baltimore area for a unique layout and experience.
Beautiful course
I absolutely love playing this course. It is always in perfect condition and today was no exception. The fairways are mostly open and forgiving. The greens are small and challenging. Two of the 4 par 3’s are very challenging.
Love this course
It was my first time playing here. Drove 45 minutes and it wa totally worth it. A few friends of mine told me about it. So glad we got a chance to play. The price was great, the course was in great shape. The layout is one of a kind with hills, undulating greens. Grass was cut to perfection. No complaints here.
Great!
Course in good shape, good degree of difficulty, always a great play for the money. One of my favorite courses in Lancaster County! Definitely give it a play!
Good value and nice conditions
First time playing this course. Very nice conditions. Small greens which is a challenge. But they roll true so very fair! Good price for the course, but a bit too far from the Philly suburbs.
Pilgrims Oak review
Tee boxes were not up to standard for this course. I’ve played it probably 6-8 times in the past 4 years. But I haven’t played it at all the past 2 years. Greens were slow but in fairly good shape. Fairways were average at best for this time of year
great value
Play here about once a month usually mid afternoon. Course is always in great shape, although this time the tees were a little scruffy where they had the markers. Course is never crowded and we usually get done in under 4 hours. 3 of the pars threes are beautiful challenging golf holes, the other is underwhelming.. hundred yard shot. Nice variety on the par fours. Like the par fives as well...just wish they would move the white tees back on #18.
Great times will be had
This is a scorers course imo. Some pretty short par 4s and 5s. Greens in great condition, rolled fairly true but a lot slower than I expected. Nice firm greens that were very receptive to spinning wedge shots. Rough not to thick, only lost balls were to water hazard. Doh! Only negative thing to report is some tee boxes are not level and some are beat up pretty good. Easy fix was to stand a little farther back from the tees.
