The stunning fourth. Tricky, strategic and exhilarating. Yet fatal on the left side. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eight. Bold 3-par of 204. You’ll need a fine tee shot to keep the wolf at the door. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eleven. Solid tee-to-green test. Hitting and putting this green are the keys. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Thirteen: Wedging into a green pared down to essentials: a frontal bunker, a narrowing surface, then a big backside falloff. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Sixteen. Dr. Hurdzan’s greens resemble those of Donald Ross: crafted, meticulous, well-contoured. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Enjoyable Golf in Amish Country
Excellent warm weather, and the first really nice golf day this spring season. Course is always in great shape from tees to greens, and it's truly an enjoyable layout in the Amish countryside that feels different on every hole. Many hillsides, a lot of up and down. This is actually one of my favorites courses in the area, the greens are very challenging and can run fast. There are many more positives than negatives, but here are the areas that need improvement:
1. Always a starter but never a ranger. The pace can get very slow at times because nobody ever monitors after the first hole.
2. Sand traps need more work and better sand, especially fairway bunkers.
3. Front counter staff is usually NOT friendly. Frankly, often they're rude, especially the young tall guy... Need to act like they actually care about the golf customer.
4. Carts are older, and they don't have enough on very busy days, making people wait.
5. Nearly every tee box is uneven ground.
6. Greens keeper can sometimes get a little crazy with pin placement. Greens run nice, but are extremely slopey, and can be VERY hard depending on pin.
7. 18th hole is tough due to the water and hazards; watch out!
Great course
The course was in great shape. Greens were fast and true. I can only imagine how it will be when the weather warms up.
Can't beat it for early March
The greens are quicker than any other course around for winter time. Always a challenge, the course drains well after a rain or snow.
Perfect for February
Enjoyed the round on this well-kept challenging layout.
Still very early, new grass not in and a few wet spots after snow two days earlier. Would always recommend this course for design, staff and value.
If you like a challenge
My closest friends will not play this course. We are 66 years and older. I love a challenge. This coarse is SO cool. NO flaT LIES. HA !! I LOVE THIS COARSE. I WILL BE BACK. DO NOT BE A WOOSE, play this course. Go ahead, be a man !! Do it, book, it !! Go ahead, step up, take a chance. You must be in good shape, this is all hills and valleys. Nothing is flat !! Your game will improve. Your game is not to old to improve. Use our imaginations and play to the max. Come on guys !! My playing partner is 83 years old, AND HE LOVED IT. So,....... just..... do..... it !! I will not see most of my friends there, BUT, I may see you there. I would welcome you to my twosome anyday !! J of L
Beautiful course, putt-putt greens.
The course is a beautiful layout and its always in excellent shape. The overall golf experience is excellent for the price. Only have two complaints: 1) Several of the greens are so difficult they are silly. (notably 3, 11 and 15) 2) The pro shop only has hot dogs and occasionally stale, cold turkey and ham sandwiches.
Great course
As remembered it was in great shape for 11/16/17. Need some ball washers.
i think most courses put their ball washers away for the year when temperatures are frequently getting around freezing because the washers will all freeze up and can break
Windy
Great course with a variety of holes. Course was in excellent condition. One thing you’ll want to keep in mind is this course always has windy conditions.
Lancaster County's Diamond in the Rough
This is my favorite course in Lancaster County. Being a traditional links course, this is not one you want to walk unless you are in great physical condition. Every hole is unique and challenging, with the exception of #4, a par 3 wedge hole. With soft sand in the bunkers and pristine fairways, the greens are true, fast, and nicely undulating, making this course exceptionally challenging!
Blind holes
I have cancer and this course was too hilly for me. It also had a lot of bind shots and some of them were alittle dangerous. It was a beautiful venue and in great condition. I needed a flatter course. Lost some balls in the ruff.
One of the best maintained In the area and a great price! Greens are super fast, fairways are wide and forgiving for those risk/reward shots. Played in 3.5 hours, had a beginner with me so I let any group that caught us to play through so he did not feel pressured. I look forward to playing here again soon hopefully in the fall with the foliage it will make a nice view. It’s worth the drive and money.
Hidden Gem
First time playing here and I will absolutely be back. Friendly starter and staff. My twosome teed off just before 7:30am and finished within 3.5 hours. Fairways and greens in great shape. Nice mix of challenging holes and scoring holes. Greens were small, fast, and undulating. The scenery was really great. Big open farmland, very few houses. I drove about 50 minutes to play here and wasn't sure what to expect for a prime time weekend rate of only $53. The course reminded me of Broad Run in West Chester, which is easily $30 more expensive (and worth it). This may be my new favorite SE PA course!
never noticed any sandwiches there being stale. During the actual playing season they always have good chicken salad, turkey, and ham sandwiches.
