The stunning fourth. Tricky, strategic and exhilarating. Yet fatal on the left side. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eight. Bold 3-par of 204. You’ll need a fine tee shot to keep the wolf at the door. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eleven. Solid tee-to-green test. Hitting and putting this green are the keys. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Thirteen: Wedging into a green pared down to essentials: a frontal bunker, a narrowing surface, then a big backside falloff. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Sixteen. Dr. Hurdzan’s greens resemble those of Donald Ross: crafted, meticulous, well-contoured. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Eighteen. #2 index. Problems galore. As at all par-5’s here, playing the angles well may save you from disaster. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 04/23/2021

Gem in the country
Very nice course, lots of character. Worth the 1 hour 10 minute drive from Harrisburg area.
Tough greens
Course in nice shape. The greens are very undiluted.
this course was in excellent shape
The course was in excellent shape. If you like undulating greens this is definitely the course for you. Every hole was different and very interesting. I would definitely recommend this to my other golfing buddies
Hidden Gem
It was hike to get there but it was well worth it. A terrific bargain for the golfnow special. This course a 2nd shot course. Inviting tee shots to set up small landing areas for approaches. Anything more than 25ft away and it's a challenge to not 3 putt. Challenging and picturesque par 3s from the tips. Greens were receptive and a little on the slow Side but in very good shape. I highly recommend this course
Back nine is a good test of golf
Course was in excellent condition. Pace of play was decent for a Sunday 9:30 tee time 4 hours 5 minutes for an 18 hole round. The pre-made sandwiches were fresh and fairly priced if a notch below the typical fare offered and similarly price courses.
Awesome
I extremely love this course and I would recommend it highly to everyone. It offers a lot of challenges, but the cost is cheap compared to similar courses like it I have played. Looking forward to many more rounds this season!!
Challenging greens
This course is one of my favorites. Great driving course and very challenging greens.
A Must Play
Nestled in Amish Country, this course is absolutely beautiful and challenging. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Be prepared for some difficult lies. This course is pretty wide open, but if you stray too far from the fairway, the rough can be difficult to get out of. To me, this is one of the very best in this area and I tell everyone they need to give it a try. If you do, I guarantee you will want to come back
Great Value
I have played this course probably 4 times now, and it is always in great shape. Great value for the money, especially if you can get a Hot Deal. There are a few interesting holes, but overall the course is not too tough and is somewhat forgiving if you have a few wayward drives. Normally, pace of play is not a concern, but on this particular day there was a foursome with several walkers which slowed the pace for several twosomes that were behind, us included. The course staff probably should have paired some of us up to consolidate things a bit. Our 18 hole round took a little over 4 hours.
Overall, I love this course, it is definitely worth the drive and is a great value.
Great course with minor issues
Course is a great value, very picturesque and challenging... wouldn't recommend if you don't like unlevel lies. Greens are very well kept and very undulating with several 2 tier greens....you get on the wrong side of the hole you could be chipping instead of putting your next shot. Not a terribly long course from the whites and the senior tees (yellow) are very short. A few things would be major improvements.... LEVEL THE TEE BOXES !!!!! if you like teeing off with your feet lower than the ball you will like a few of the tees.... also need some spike cleaning brushes on every 3rd or 4th hole. The rough is usually very high with your ball nestling down to the bottom... balls can be very hard to find and it's very hard to advance the ball if the grass is wet. Rough needs to be shorter for the average golfer.
Excellent Golf course
Pilgrim's Oak is a great course and a super value. Always in great shape and very fair for the mid-player.
I drive from Harford County, MD to play at Pilgrim's Oak because I like it so much.
Good not great
Usually have a great time on this course but today rough needed alot of cutting. Was not as pleasurable usually in great shape greens were great but rough was way to long to be fun.
Great Course / Slow Round
Beautiful course. This course has a great layout and the course is in great condition. The greens are really nice. We played on a weekend and the course was full and the round took 4:45pm so we were waiting on most every hole. We did not get any food or beverages so cannot rate them on that.
Best kept secrete
This course is in great shape. The greens are well kept and the fairways are near perfect. The greens had been aerated but were rolling surprisingly well. The grounds crew should be complemented on a great job.
I would recommend this course and will be back.
Great for the money
Course in great shape , bargain at twilight rate, even better with golfnow
Challenging shotmakers course in fine condition
Very hilly and with quite undulating greens. I thought the greens needed to be shorter at first, but later on it became apparent that if the greens were really fast the course would be almost unplayable for a novice. There are so many direction changes, and the sides of the greens all slope away, so that getting on at all was a challenge. I need to play it again to put my approach shots in the right place on the green. The course is not long, but you will use all your clubs with some forced carries and forced layups. In addition, a level lie is hard to come by anywhere so club choice was often impacted by wind, uphill or downhill lie, as well as elevation changes on every hole. Very interesting and I must try it again sometime. Worth the price, but beginners may lose some balls.
Great course
Awesome course and in great shape. I would play this course again and again. Wonderful views thru out the course.
Beautiful
haven't played here for 15years, course is better than ever, beautiful views, course in great shape, only negative, poor yardage markers... will play again soon
Nice track
Nice layout. Variety of holes. Played the blue tees the whites looked a little to easy. Greens were fair a little on the slow side. Difficult hole is number 11. 12 is a buetful par. 3.
If you know of a better deal, send me the info!
I really like this course. It is very challenging from uneven teeboxes to multilevel and undulating greens, blind tee shots, and some approach shots that are not completely seen. I normally play it at the twighlight rate after work, and it cant be beat. $29 w/ cart. If this course was a little closer to me, I probably would play it twice a week. The pace has been fantastic when I go there(normally a 2:45 to 3:15 hr round for me and my friend)
