Timberlane Golf & Recreation
About
When Timberlane Golf & Recreation opened in 1959 as Timerlane Country Club, it was the first private golf club on the west bank of the Mississippi. The oaks planted at that time have beautifully matured, adding to both the scenery and difficulty of the golf course. Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed the course, crafting a challenging test that has been ranked as one of the most difficult golf courses in the country. You'll have to contend with 80 strategically placed sand bunkers and 17 different water hazards. While the course is not overly punishing, you'll have to be prepared to have every aspect of your game tested. Before tackling Timberlane''s golf course you may find it helpful to warm up using the club's all-grass driving range and you can use the large putting green to practice with putting, chipping, and sand play.

Fun course
Love the layout and friendly staff. Some greens were great, some patchy, but you can tell they are trying to get them right. Fairways were dry in spots, but to be expected with the lack of rain. Price makes this course worth playing.
Timberlane
The course is in decent shape. The fairways were good. The greens were spotty. Some where in great shape. Some were patchy. Overall a good value at the price I paid. Not that many people out there due to Covid 19 situation. I did ask if we could have 2 carts to limit exposure. Lady behind the desk looked at me like I was a fool. If you have extra carts, which you do, why wouldn't you allow this?
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give Timberlane Country Club another try in the near future.
Double Booked!
This is a course I have played a few times. However, this time there was something different. I accidentally booked a tee time for 4 people instead of 2. I asked the golf course about possibly taking a rain check on the accidental second booking and they said it all goes through the Golf Now app. If anyone reads these reviews, would it be possible to get in touch with the golf course so they can confirm that there was only two people in my gorup and get a refund or rain check for the second booking of two people?
Never Again
Brought a couple of guys who don't live on the westbank to play and it was awful from start to finish.
First of all we showed up 2 hours early (BAD IDEA) hoping to play early because one of the guys had a game to referee.
Even though the course was wide open, we were not allowed to get a cart because the rule at this course is GolfNow players can't check in or have access to carts or play until 30 minutes before tee time,
never happens at any course.
As Donna explained to one of my friends, the course does NOT get anything when we book on GolfNow.
This was bad because we had to sit around for an hour and a half, that's my fault for not knowing the course rules for GolfNow customers.
Second, I stood and watch for an hour inside as one guy get's offered membership and time given to explain everything this course has to offer if he would sign-up, but me nor any of my friends ever was offered this same opportunity or even spoken to by the guy running the course... the short guy, not Riche.
My guys were convinced that all this was because of our race, but I believe it's more because of who we were because they are hardly ever friendly at all or welcoming.
Third, I felt bad that they got the worst end of this deal because one of them had to leave after 9 holes to referee a game.
Fourth, The greens were horrible except for #4.
The reason why I say never again should be clear, but I will summarize it this way.
I will never again...
1. Show up early to Timberlane.
2. Expect to be accommodated like a friend.
3. Expect to be offered membership even though I get emails from them.
4. Expect the staff to be friendly towards me when they don't know me.
the Pro Richie is always nice but that lady in the pro shop with the terrible attitude is costing the course a lot of money , she must be related to someone very important because they should give her a job where she does not interact with people
Hello. Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for your experience during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Timberlane Country Club. We hope to see you again soon.
Bad shape.
None of the greens had much grass on them, There were nice patches of new grass on some, but little weeds growing on all greens.
Course needs work.

Monday morning at Timberlane
From reading reviews, I was able to figure out that I needed to park outside the gate and then walk in. Clubhouse guy was friendly enough and off I was on my round behind a twosome for 9 holes. Course on the front 9 had 2 or 3 bad greens but overall they were in decent shape. Back 9 is across the road and had some decent holes. Sand traps were ok and like people said in the reviews the workers sometimes are in the way and don't seem to care much. Not a bad round if you don't have another choice.

Can’t beat it
Got a hot deal, only $20 for 18. didn’t know the course at all, first timer, n let’s just say i was surprised. read reviews before going and wasn’t expecting much. least favorite thing, parking but besides that loved the place. obviously greens and fairways aren’t A1 but for the price it was perfect and the staff was cool, s/o to the big guy Collin. bunkers were in great condition also s/o to the greens crew saw them puttin in serious work out there on the bunkers. recommend the course if you’re just lookin to play some golf
the woman in the checking in boots
the little old lady makes golfer feel bad.
i had bad drive at the first tee shot.
she so rude and against customer checking in time. only late 7 min.
what are the make so much hard time to deal with 7 min late for tee off??
everything Ok .. But this staff MUST GO HOME>!!!
Monday morning at Stonebridge..
First time playing and I'm glad I read the reviews prior to playing. You will have to park outside the gate and plenty of people are doing this. A few of the first greens on the front 9 were not in good shape. Pace of play was ok, but as people say the workers sometimes act like people are on the course trying to golf, and other times they don't. Course was fairly decent and for me it was cool to play somewhere new.

They keep making improvements to get this course back to its hay days
I think by end of next year it will be close
Green is Bad . Staff was rude to player
this course green is not maintained.check your self .
mud . water water water. and you need bring 2 dz golf ball.
you cant find golf ball in this course.
any way front desk woman ,she supposed not be ther.
make feel bad to player . your golf will screw up be cus this woman.
Great course
The course overall is nice and well kept. They do not have a lot of thick brush lining the fairways so you can find the ball on sloppy shots. I personally don't like gas golf carts however they are well maintained and clean. The big draw back of the course is the score card and the hole signs don't have any pictures of the hole layout. I like seeing the layout to plan shots for strategy.. they also have a couple of holes on the back nine that are uniquely laid out and confusing for first timers on the course. Pictures showing the layout would help. The sand traps seem to hold water and were packed down.
Nice course for the price
Used a Hot Deal and played here super cheap. Nice course although a little long. Was pretty empty but was behind a two-some who were slow so was a four hour day. Still have the old gas powered non-GPS carts. Overall good course
MUCH IMPROVEMENT
I played this course last year and it was a bad experience. However, since then they have made GREAT improvements. The greens are much better and the fairways are actually cut. The staff is also friendly. The only issue with this course in my opinion are the PAR 3 tee boxes. Most of them were not flat and had humps, making it hard to find a nice spot to hit. Other than that, I highly recommend.
