About
When Timberlane Golf & Recreation opened in 1959 as Timerlane Country Club, it was the first private golf club on the west bank of the Mississippi. The oaks planted at that time have beautifully matured, adding to both the scenery and difficulty of the golf course. Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed the course, crafting a challenging test that has been ranked as one of the most difficult golf courses in the country. You'll have to contend with 80 strategically placed sand bunkers and 17 different water hazards. While the course is not overly punishing, you'll have to be prepared to have every aspect of your game tested. Before tackling Timberlane''s golf course you may find it helpful to warm up using the club's all-grass driving range and you can use the large putting green to practice with putting, chipping, and sand play.

Impressive
Really is impressive to see where this track has come. Kudos to the greens keepers and the staff. Greens are in fantastic shape as well as the turf from where it was a year ago. Keep up the great work!!
Excellent golf course, super staff
I always enjoy playing golf out at Timberlane. The course has very fine, elevated green complexes and the fairways are lined with stately oak trees. The staff are very friendly and make you feel right at home. Abby in the pro shop and Carina in Café Hope are always there with a smile and provide excellent service. It's a really nice place to play on the west bank in the New Orleans area.
Aside from being stuck behind a sixsome (why would the marshal let a group of 6 go off?) it was a good day!

I sincerely appreciate all the hard work the entire staff has done this past year and especially after hurricane Ida in order to get Timberlane back up and open for play in a relatively short time. I have personally thank many of the workers on the course during my play for their hard work and attention to detail in cleaning up tree branches, debris, trimming trees and general course maintenance and work on the course to improve the overall condition and playability for all members, guest and playing public etc. A special thanks goes out to especially Abby and the golf staff who should be recognized for their friendly, courteous and helpful service on a daily basis. Sorry I don’t know everyone’s name but all Timberlane employees should be commended for their dedication to detail, hard work, and outstanding effort to make Timberlane the best golf course and club in the Metro New Orleans area bar none. With sincere appreciation.

Amazing service. Great conditions. Brandon in the pro shop was extremely helpful. Overall great atmosphere. Will be coming back.
Really a Shame.
Ive been a member here a couple times over the last 30 years. I was really disappointed to see it in the horrible condition it was today. I have never seen this house so poorly taken care of. i thought since the arnold Palmer co purchased it the course would be nicer. People were rude and overcharged on everything. I will never be back. soooo disappointed

Uncut, poor layout. Poor carts.
Cheap green fee.

Unfortunately we are still dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane IDA making it hard to catch up on grass cutting, we are one of the only golf courses open in the area at the moment due to the devastation in general. Please give us another go when the course dries out.
Greens and sand traps aren't ideal
Staff was friendly. But it is a course probably on its way out. Lay out is cool. But greens do have sandtraps and the actual sandtraps weren't sand.
Good course
The course is in surprisingly decent shape in spite of all the rains. The greens were pretty good.They had some bad spots, but overall not bad. Fairways were cut as much as possible, but there were still many wet spots. Forget about any roll. Overall we had a great day. They have done a great job considering the weather.
We did NOT play. Golf now booked a tee time at a golf course that was closed. Timberlane Golf Club was closed for the July 4th holiday and we were unable to play. Golf Now would not acknowledge the golf course was closed even though the Timberlane website stated it was closed for the holiday and no one answered the phone at the golf course.
This is not the first time GolfNow has accepted tee times at a location that was closed or was not aware that Golf Now was booking tee times.
