Everything was perfect weather, greens, prices, food and play
Best value in NOLA
For the price, you won't beat this course. At about half the cost of other comparable courses (city park - south, lakewood, etc.) it is every bit as nice in all ways.
Pace of Play
Overbooked the course. Took 2 hours to play 9 holes (including skipping 2 holes to play through, so really 7 holes). The Marshall was great and let us play the front 9 a second time to get away from the crowd. Ended up having a group park on the street and yellow at us from behind. Overall bad experience due to the other golfers on the course.
GHD review
Absolute gem of a course! Did not have high expectations given the price for a Sunday round but I was overwhelmed by the outstanding, fair but challenging layout. I preferred this course over much higher cost New Orleans courses. Again, this course is an absolute gem.
No Carts; kicked off on 13
First of all, I love this course. Always well maintained and usually go during the week.
When we arrived it was a beautiful day. There were no carts available. This would’ve been fine. However, they were letting groups finishing up REPLAY the course and keep the carts. This is unacceptable.
We started an hour late (after tee time). Then, on hole 13, someone from the clubhouse whipped up in a cart and blocked our path saying we needed to return the carts. We then expressed the fact that we didn’t finish and the insinuated that they were give us a rain check. When we got back no one was around and no rain check given. They were extremely rude throughout.
Really like the course. Always get along with other players. Usually have a good time. Won’t be going back thanks to the rude staff.
Disgusted
Marshall were non existent. . Other golfers kept jumping ahead of us. Only seen Marshall was when we were told to return the carts in by 5. That was at 4:50.
Getting worse
I've been playing this course for 10 years - it's been getting a lot worse recently - it's not the course, it's the way they run it. I find it completely unacceptable that they allow 5 somes on the course every day. The pace of play sucks because they overbook - I can't play any more 5 hr rounds - today they inserted us in the middle of an outing - completely angering the group behind us off, not that it really mattered because that was a 6 some! Players just wandering from hole to hole picking up wherever they please - is disgusting and I've begged them to get their arms around it but to no avail. I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone unless they have an entire day to waste with the slow play.
Great Value in New Orleans East
This course is a real sleeper. It is a great value, in decent shape for a muni, and challenging. Greens are pretty smooth, bunkers-fine. Tee boxes and fairways can be a little beat up, but, that is to be expected.
Excellent value
I've played this course a number of times and have never had a bad experience. Without aa doubt, a greT value
