A lot of blind tee shots. Need to play the course a few times to know the course

Boulder Oaks has some deficiencies, but worth the drive. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, which made up for a few things.

Greens are nice....fairways getting better.

Traps still very rough...

Interesting holes and good variety of shots...

Course continues to get better...

Teeing areas, fairways....and greens in particular....better every time we play...

Ok course. Needs a lot of work. If you can get on for like 20 bucks. It's worth it for sure.

Interesting course

16 plays this year. Best conditions now, Fairway grooming improving, Less critter holes. Greens are rolling true, some with unique slopes. Bunkers play as mostly hardpan, Many fairways challenge with sideway slopes. Often best to hit shorter club off tees and use slightly longer club into greens since grabby (Kikuyu) grass in front. Very fun course to play with many rewarding challenges to conquer plus the most awesome scenery, especially from hole 5 tees.

Beware of elevation CHANGES and a handful of blind spots. Greens play very well, and hardly ever any issues with pace even without ambassador.

Nice course in Hidden Meadows, staff are very helpful. The course is challenging, there are some drought related areas but overall a very fun course to play. During the weekdays it is never crowded.

Brought a friend and now it's his favorite course. Great price. Love this place

This is a course I play while on vacation in the area; I brought my son-in-law and our wives (my wife and daughter) for his first experience; we were welcomed with friendly, attentive staff and received a memorable experience; the course was in very good shape, and we played without any delay or push by other players until hope #17 when a single came upon us; the staff were all very friendly and accommodating, making us feel like regular patrons; I will return when in the area.

Enjoyed the course and the variety of shots and angles the course offered. A bit understaffed, At the same time those who worked there were courteous and helpful. Really enjoyed the course overall and will go back. Enjoyed all but the sand traps, that were often wet stand, hard as concrete and overgrowing with weeds. Loved the view the course offered. If you go in the early am like I did be prepared that the first 4-5 holes look into the sun. Really did enjoyed the differences in elevation that the course provided.

The course is in good shape except for the bunkers. Fairways are very nice and the greens are hard and quick. Make sure to land the ball correctly on chips with the roll for close shots. Putts roll true.

The greens, fairways, and rough are in good shape. The bunkers are hit and miss but it looks like they are slowly bringing in fresh sand. A great deal for the price.

The “decorative” white sand bunkers are a mess largely because they were placed on hills with the greatest view angle but greatest runoff. This was an expensive and unfortunate architectural blunder but has no impact on playability.

The “desert landscape” areas are unkept in many places and this detracts from the experience of an otherwise beautiful golf course. Most notably, the hardpan surfaces on the steeper hills are filled with erosion channels. I think a great solution would be to plant sprigs of the clumpy and wispy grass that grows naturally along the side of the hilly road on the way up to the golf course. That stuff is perfectly suited for the hills and hidden meadows microclimate. It already grows nicely near the 5th tee box. It looks amazing in the spring and good all year round all while preventing erosion. I know the course has watering regulations resulting from the redesign but maybe the avoidance of soil running off into the public drainage channels could be basis for an exception. Once established it would require zero maintenance. From a golfer’s point of view, I’d rather lose my ball in that stuff then see it roll 60 yards down a hill. It would also justify the shorter than average hole distances.

The less hilly hardpan areas are becoming weeded. In my opinion, this should be left alone while the natural plant progression fills these in over time to match the surrounding natural area. Fighting nature on this one isn’t worth the cost. I’d make a few exceptions in the flatter areas where the nice landscaping worked.

Always pleasant, challenging, even though it’s short.....one of the guys did comment on the difference between the speed of the practice green and the course greens.....caused him to misread speeds, and not putt very well....

This is a very challenging course. It is tight and there is VERY little room for error. It is rather scenic. There are several holes that you can't see any fairway from the tee boxes so if you can get a tour and take some notes before you play, you'll score far better. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
